Oh God,
I liked the way Jack Nickolson put it in The Witchs of Eastwich...
Women, did he do it to us on purpose?
Just kidding ladies...:)

Ahhh, but firstly one has to believe in a god to give it credit.  I would not someone else taking credit for my hard work in the here and now, neither would I want something I cannot see, hear, smell, taste or touch getting the credit.    But hey, that's just me.  That's what's great about free choice.

And I love cats too.    I have two, and they're both furry fruitcakes.

TwoMoons--I remember that line!  Same could go for the ladies, "Men--did he do it to us on purpose?" LOL

Bob--Hey, beats having no one but other dudes to hang out with!  "You sure got a purty mouth".  Admit it--at least we keep you men entertained :D

I think I liked Ugly's reasons.  If you look at the foundation of every breed, you will find that every dog was bred for a purpose.  All of these purposes were to serve man.  They all had a purpose and to this day they are happiest when they are being used to fulfill that purpose.  If they cannot fulfill that purpose directly, than they can find enjoy life by doing something that takes advantage of the drives they have.  A retriever may not be able to hunt birds today, but he can go to a lake and fetch a stick out of the water all day.  Retrieving is what his drives make him.

In short Gouda, I believe dogs were created for mans use, and as a result of this, we in turn are to provide for them that which they cannot provide for themselves.  This is the partnership, they work for us, we provide all of their needs.  They are not happy and healthy laying on a couch watching cartoons. The relationship to man is what made a dog a dog in the first place.

I know why God made dogs. To love and be loved, to guard us and guide us and mostly to teach us what is truly important in life.

What I would like to know is what He was thinking when he made people...?

Nou is ek in groot kak met so 'n vraag, hehehehe!
