Unforutnately, the power supply is a different voltage in the U.S. than in the U.K. Better check out just how well that will work before you send it, Steve.

Most appliances can be made to work, but you need a special adapter. And, even with the adapter, some of them don't work very well. My electric alarm clock wouldn't keep proper time when I was over there on holiday!

That's wonderful of you to offer, though! Hope you can get it to work...

I'm hanging in here. Took another bad fall on the ice yesterday, ripping one shoulder up and bruising the few parts as yet undamaged till then, but not so ill this week. (read: big-gun antibiotics :) Can't wait for spring! We have 0F (-32C) and 4"/7cm of snow over 2"/4cm of solid ice, but the road is plowed and the sun is out for the moment. Everything looks better in sunshine! I can't figure out why anybody lives in this part of the country by choice. How the early settlers managed winters here I have no idea, but a trip through any local cemetary indicates a lot of them didn't last long, whole families perishing in the space of a year in many cases. Hard to fathom for a California native unused to life-threatening temperature issues and weather-related tragedies. I hope this message makes it to the thread. It took forever to write it on my teeny Querty keyboard! SS

Sunsilver,
Yes, I  would think it it a different voltage in the USA to the UK, it is here in Belgium but it works okay
I know nothing about computers, so i cannot make any test ,
But  i will get a transport service to ship it over, This i will arrange on Monday as they are all closed now

However this is on the back of the adaptor perhaps some of you Guys in the USA will be able to tell me if there is a chance of it being okay over there
One thing is it has a belgian socket two pin plug but that can be changed if the voltage is okay
Here it is
on the adaptor
60w-AC Adaptor
Model PA 1600-06d1
Input 100-240v
Output 19v
Hope it means something to you Guys over there

It will work fine here! I have an adapter. The reason a clock won't work right even with the adapter is that the

It will work fine here! The dual voltage capability is built in to the power supply. I think I still have a set of plug-end adapters. I am so excited! I can hardly wait! My old dinosaur was sick a long time before it finally died. I can send you some $ towards shipping after the 26th. MY HERO! :))) SS

You guys are TOO cool. Its turning into a warm and fuzzy week. :-D I have some MS Digital Image Edit software less than 3 yrs old, (XP) I'm hoping it will run on the gift machine. :-) Now where did I put those plug adapters? Last seen in my sock drawer I think, typical ADD organization. ha ha ha. SS
