I am not sure if the old true DDR lines still exist in the uk since the wall came down my understanding is that the working dogs in germany are a mixture of both east ands west and they are predominatly west
I am involved in sch sport and cannot think of a single pure DDR dog or bitch around at the moment

If you mate any of the female progeny to some other boodline its not a 13A dog anymore. If you you use any male progeny of the line to mate a bitch of a different line its gonna be recognised as a DDR dog from 13A.Hope that makes some sense to you?

BTW , there is a litter underway from this line.
There is still another line about called 11E, but I do not know much about it.
All the best

You should go back and talk to Frank. All that is left in Germany is 13a dogs or combinations of that line. You misunderstood him. There are no males left in Germany today that are from 11E or any of the 11 lines. The only way to have males from these lines is with frozen semen and that is if it exists. In Germany the sv does not allow frozen semen breeding

I live in the usa i do not know the availability of the East German Blood in the UK. Just before the falling of the Berlin wall dogs from the ddr were being brought into the USA. Today we have more East German bloodlines then anywhere. If your desire is for a top competition dog I would not be looking for a pure ddr dog. The West German working lines have the top drives to compete Czech dogs are good to. The east west mix may work also. Now you can compete with the ddr but the majority will be a lower level dogs. The DDR used the dogs for military , police and protection work not sport. There are people who will tell you other wise.

From the title of the thread it is fair to assume you are in the UK and then when you say you have DDR lines it is fair to ask which, i am fully familiar with the lines and the blending of them for sport, and would still be interested to which dogs you have, i have a few freinds in the US who also wish to konw

Reason i breed to save as much of the old bloodlines . The bloodline i have are The 5a - 12 and the 11 a-b-c-d-e
i do not use any of the reaming bloodlines that now have consumed the entire ddr gene pool and that is the 13a from Gero vom Haus Kaiser foward
