Hello Bok,
If you google the topic for crate training, you will find several articles you can read to get an idea what crate training is all about.
I had only done it once with my first GSD and I am glad I did so dispite the initial whinning and biting on the metal door. It was scary for me in the beginning with all the noise and crate shaking while the pup was in the crate. She was only 10 weeks old then but a real tough cookie. Fortunately I had plenty of assurance from an experienced trainer to ignore the commotion as long as I keep to a schedule.
