Get him to the vet immediately, sounds like either an obstruction or something else as bad!

Good Morning everyone, it is about 11 am here in michigan, and Ando did have surgery this morning, had an obstruction with impaction, I was so confused as to why this happened so quickly. He is doing well, they said the surgery went very well. He is resting comfortably. Thanks for all the imput and support.

I'm glad to hear he came through surgery fine.   Did they say what the obstruction was?

Dog's digestive systems are actually very fragile, anything that obstructs the tract can also cause necrosis (dying) of the bowel, then sepsis quickly ensues (the bowel ruptures spilling all the bacteria that normally lives in the gut & infects  the inners of the dog)....just hours after the first signs a dog can be in dire distress, or dying. What are you feeding your dog? What kind of kibble? Save some & ask your vet if they know somewhere that could check it out for mold or contaminants, make sure your vet explains what they determine the cause of the impaction was, so you can adjust your care of your dog to prevent further problems. Good luck, I hope Ando does well. The American Veterinary Surgeons website can offer some insight to any procedure your dog was given. Keep us posted! jackie harris

Also important is PLENTY of fresh water available in the winter.  I know my dogs consume more water in the winter than they do in the summer.

Very good :) :)

Well they told me that it was a piece of fabric only the size of a quarter, but then the fecal matter impacted the bowels, there was no necrosis, or leakage, luckily we caught it in time.
