No puppy at 8 weeks worth that amount, but sadly breeders will get away with selling at these prices 'cause there is always some fool willing to pay. Here in the UK  you are paying bigger prices for a puppy's "KENNEL NAME" imo. Sad but true i'm afraid. liz

So let's see, someone that has $3500.00 to spend on a puppy is a fool or an idiot. Is it because he has the money to spend and he can buy whatever he wants or is it because some people do not have that kind of money to spend on a puppy, so he becames the idiot and they're the smart ones. I've seen people spend thousands of dollars on an antique table, rug or clock, which for some other people those things have no value but we don't call them idiots or fools. So let's see how many of you are going to call me an idiot or a fool for just giving my opinion.

PS: I've also seen breeder complain that a certain dog is overpriced, but when it's their dog they all want top price.

I know you won't believe me, but I only own 3 males and I've never bred them to any  female yet, and I said yet, because I don't know what the future will bring. If owning 3 males makes me a puppy farmer, then thank you for the new title.

A fool and their money will soon be departed!

Just because someone might have the funds to buy such an expensive puppy does not always mean they are getting the most or the best for their money!

Nouchko, i certainly would never call you an idiot for having an opinion which you are entitled to. I do not however think you can compare buying an antique anything with an 8 week old puppy. An  antique table is what you see it will not change, an 8 week puppy can be something quite different as an adult. But if someone wants to pay way over the odds to a "big well known breeder" good luck to them. Me, i know from past experience,by doing a bit of research you can get the same breeding from a less well known breeder for less. Each to there own i say, but i still say you are a fool to pay a fortune, whether you have it or not, for a puppy with a" well known kennel name". But i am Scottish, well known penny pinchers, lol, and i do not part with money easy. liz

No Vickie, but if you know rich people (I do a lot of them in my area) they think that money buys quality, but what is more important it dose not sounds right when firends ask you how much you paid for a dog and you say 1k when other one is for 3.5k :) you go for the most expensive one or it will take your status as rich away :) lol hahahahaha

Sometimes rich people are realy stupid :) but than since when money guarantees brains :)

Snaiper69, You have hit the nail on the head,PEOPLE ASSUME MONEY BUYS QUALITY. I have heard people say "oh! i paid thousands of pounds for my puppy, and then when the puppy is an adult it just does not justify the initial price. So folks MONEY DOES NOT ALWAYS BUY QUALITY.!!!!!!  liz

Liz,

It's so great that you let us in on the secret about money and quality. Now everyone knows and we will all be saved from the breeders that get top dollar for their pups! What would we have done without your Scottish intuition?
