From The Kennel Club Calendar and Stud Book (U.K.), Volume III, 1876:
4834. Banjo.—Mr. R. W. Deans, Hurnehurst, Waughton, Birkenhead; breeder, Mr. W. Gamon, of Chester; whelped May, 1870. (Sire of Ventom, No. 4147, Vol. VII.)
Pedigree: By Tyrant (No. 617, Vol. I.) out of Lively, by Viper (No. 623, Vol. I.) out of Fury, by Old Jock (No. 558, Vol. I.) out of Grove Nettle (No. 655, Vol. I.)

This is a dog pedigree, used by breeders and breed enthusiasts to see the ancestry and line-breeding of that individual dog. The pedigree page also contains links to the dogs siblings and progeny (if any exist). For dog owners with purebred dogs this is an excellent resource to study their dog's lineage.
