ValK I was not under the impression you had encyclopedic answers on the GSD. I also did not think you currently owned a GSD, which you confirmed. I did find interesting some of your posts regarding history of the communist border dogs.

Certainly not a requirement to own a GSD to discuss other people’s dogs or the breed in general, nor is video/photographic evidence if one does - but we can sure learn a little something about each other by the type of dogs we own and advocate.

well, praying I don't make anyone notorious but (one pic only) this bitch in the pedigree of Beowulf (sp) really stands out.
sorry if I offended anyone, she just jumped out at me.

I still can't get into Czechs. I've met some nice ones, but I stick with what I know. Since we are sharing pedigrees, these are my dogs :)
Athos
This is a daughter of Champ I got instead of a stud fee: Tequila
She is every bit as hard as he is. Crazy hunt drive at just 4 months old. I really like her.
This is the pedigree of the litter I have on the ground right now G Litter von den Sturmfalken
I like my west german dogs, specifically if I can breed back into my parents bloodlines. :)

I exposed her to everything I could seeing her temperament as a baby it’s helped but you can’t change genetics. Now to figure out what to with her as far as keeping her who knows.

jetta, no idea where you are at with this dog but can assure you I have been at this point several times.
I had goals, the dog did not meet those goals.
I never abandoned a one of them, never put one to sleep, some I returned to breeder, some I found lifetime homes much better than me. the last one just passed this year @ 13 y.o. so I do not need any advice from the fakers here who never set or met/pursed goals.
only advice I have is stay true to your goals (whatever that direction is) and do the best possible for the dog.
jmo,
Rik
