I don't really know much about the specifics of how these things work, I just know how to find and remove them (I know what files, services, and processes belong on a computer and which don't and what is a suspicious proxy configuration or bad entries in a host file, that sort of thing). I don't think there is anything from this site that is being blocked, but rather the browser is already "infected" with some sort of adware or malware that is somehow stimulated (for lack of a better word) by browsing this site, and that's why other programs are "blocking" something. I've never received a block warning of any kind on this site and I'm on here on and off every day (on multiple computers with different operating systems), but I'd bet my house my browsers are clean because I am careful, remove this crap for a living, and am reinstalling my OS/reimaging my computers constantly anyway.
I'd be game for a remote session but my Internet connection at home has been flaky (been battling with Comcast, we get interference so my service drops every few minutes). It would be easier to do at work where I have a gigabit wired connection.

Anyone want to try explaining why I keep getting a "questionaire" (with prize attached) supposedly
from PDB ? It says "ads by topdeal" in the bottom r/h corner of the screen, which also seems
to apply to a lot of other interruptive advertising of the sort described in this thred. ?
My security software keeps telling me my computer is clean of viruses, I think I even got told my
browser (G Chrome) was fine ...
BTW once submitted and 'printed' (terminology ?) on screen, all my posts and everyone elses' have
keywords picked out as links to adverts; this has been happening ever since these pop up ads and vids
started to become problematic (say last five or six weeks, for me, in UK - don't know if that makes any
diff - and sound very similar to what others are experiencing, except content slightly different as described
in my earlier post, p1).

Well we don't use pop up ads that I am aware of, now ads that expand on mouse over I have seen here in the past but these ads don't pop up as far as I know. Quoted from Oli - "Ad networks are Google, Lijit and Dogtime" these are the ad agencies he uses.
Any other ads coming from different sources are coming from adware/malware on the computer.
