Wonderful...perfect resolution! (Esp.for the pup, although sounds like your pleased also) :)

Thats awesome Flav323, That is exactly what I would have done. I do believe any ethical and responsible breeder would have had no issues doing this. But in the end, if we could not agree on the deposit, it would not have been the deciding factor whether the pup came back or not.

Excellent results. The best dog I ever bred was one I took back.

I know that thsi is a done deal but here is my take on it for benefit of others who may encounter similar situation.
So far all assumed that the buyer is honest. Here is my take. :) Buyer is probablky not honest.
Thus I would offer training. I do not care that she is trainer. Obviously she has problem . if she refuses then she is not honest about the reason. Also ; this is not a genetic problem. Most warranties guarantee genetic problem. This is trainable condition. As a matter of fact easily trainable condition. She is a dog trainer and can not fix this simple probem- thus she is lying. Thus her reason to return the dog is something else. does not sound right especially since the person is a trainer. It sounds like some kind of a excuse for other reason. It sounds more like clear buyers' remorse to me or pathological puppy dumper. ( You said she did not sound right from get go) . Someone probably offered her another pup for less money or convicted her that their pup is better.
Keep in mind that you are not responsible just to this pup (and you should get it back hell or high water) but you have some implied responsibility to other pups who this person will obtain and trade and dump and on and on and on. ,....Thus I would say that you should not enable her to do this again. At least slow her down. She needs to feel a "pain" and consider it "not to be worth it" to do this again. People who do this once will do it again and again. They need to be stopped. As Charles Barkley said I may be wrong but I doubt it. Thus absolutely not full refund. 50% at best after you sell the dog.

The outcome that happened was by far the best outcome.
Good job!

I love it when things work out!

Flav323,
You deducted the deposit and returned her the rest of the amount. My question to you if you decide to sell the puppy again, are you going to ask for only same amount you returned to her ?
