Yeah, US regulations about what goes into animal feeds are different to the UK, our are stricter (no 4D). But the OP's dog is apparently doing well on the American version (so it must suit some dogs) and therefore I personally wouldn't be looking to change her over AT THIS TIME. Later, fine. Nothing wrong with Nan's suggestion to start adding a little fresh raw minced beef or tripe, however, for now, as I would probably do that with every pregnant and lactating bitch. It helps in raising the amounts needed. Much easier to bring that in gradually, too, and see how she gets on with it a bit at a time, rather than worrying now about all the right balance and variety normally associated with an all raw diet. (Bit like adding a quarter-cup of a new kibble !).

Her experience has been that she's had healthy litters in the diet she's on, why change now? I change to a quality puppy food, from the same manufacturer after breeding and give some raw every day. If you want to change, do so after the puppies are weaned. IMO - Upsetting her GI when she needs to get everything possible out of every ounce of feed could be a disaster. When finally changing to raw make sure its a balanced raw diet...
