I have felt several aftershocks.... one was 3.9 the other was 2.9... then there have been some around the 2.0 or so..... even the aftershocks have been unusually strong.
There are several fault lines that run thru Napa... I believe there are 7...some are active some are not. This was the West Napa fault line... it is a stronger one.... OBVIOUSLY! I am just glad that this big quake was at 3:20AM and not 3:20PM... if it was in the afternoon and everyone was out and about there would have been alot more injuries and alot of people would have died! The man "upstairs" was sure watching over us!!

Jackie,
Thanks for the offer.. but I am not really sure what can be done.... there is so much damage to the old buildings and such. We have been declare a national disaster zone.... we are waiting to hear if we will get help from FEMA. I think the Napa Valley will. It is just mind blowing how much damage we have in an 18 second quake. I will say when I walked thru the door of my work at 4am it was overwhelming... I wasnt sure if I should cry or faint...lol.
I have talked to several customers at work that have lost ALOT...we have had alot of fish donated as their tanks have exploded during the quake. A close friend lost both of her 55 gallon fish tanks and also her snake (6 ft ball pythons) cage... the snake is 18 years old... luckily the snake is ok... but all her fish died.
Napa is a strong community and are so lucky that this happened at 320am and not in the afternoon.... I could not imagine how much human and animal life would have been lost if this quake was 12 hours later..or even 6 hours later..

Well if you think of anything.......
I'm not too capable on my own anymore, but we know this community is unstoppable.....
just let us know!
and prayers & positive energy your way in the meantime!

We had a 3.2 after shock this morning at 2am and then another one at 6:30am that was 2.5.... The 3.2 was the strongest after shock that we have had.... previously the strongest was 2.9. I will take the after shocks... I just dont appreciate them waking me up...lol.

Ok... I have had enought of this shaking!! My chimney withstood the 6.0 quake... and several of the after shocks.... we had a 3.0 Thursday morning and the damn after shock cracked my chimney....Just had the chimney cleaned and inspected 2 weeks before the 6.0 quake. Now that is IRRITATING!
Now for a new chimney!
The other thing that broke in my kitchen was a big jar with powdered sugar.... made my kitchen look like a crack house exploded....lol. There was powder all over..
Ok... ranting done...lol.
In all fairness though, I guess I shouldnt complain there are people that lost a WHOLE LOT MORE than just a cracked chimeny.
