I thought of sheepdog, but i think it's too small to be one....those eyes are very light too....it is a photogenic dog, thats for sure...

Ogbs, if the coat is brushed on the komondor, it can come in straight. I don't see drooping jowels, just hair on the mouth. Since the komondor is being bred for the breed ring, all sorts of variations are being produced. I've seen some that are no more than fifty to sixty pounds...in the ring and being bred.
I had one born in 1986, got him from a man in Colorado who bred them for actual live stock guarding. That dog was 110 pounds in fit condition. I used to keep him clipped, and the coat on his head would grow out straight when I let it grow, because I didn't like the mats, I brushed him.

Bee, that's the same thing as all black dogs are labs or labx, and all dogs with a black muzzle and prick ears is gsd or gsdx. :-) Each time
I took my body clipped komondor into the akc obedience ring, the judges, without fail, asked, " what isTHAT!?" You don't know what a dog really is until the hair is out of the way.... One white hairy dog looks the same as the next.

Rasta Dog...
With the Komondor's I can't recognize one without the hair, or more specific, the cords.
Dreadlocks :)

The one I had was very substantial, without being clumsy. Legs like pillars, a very strong head and muzzle, no excess skin, beautiful proportions....black skin, dark eyes, black nose. Very muscular and a formidable, territorial dog.

Joanro, do you have a photo of your Komondor? I would love to see it, if you do. I have always thought they sounded like lovely dogs, but those cords look very daunting!

NM, I do have some , will have to dig them out and scan. If you get a komondor, I would get one from a breeder not into showing, but actual lsg. Easy to care for without the cords and I think healthier. I know the dog can move more freely without the hinderance of all that hair.

Nans, definately not a Spinone.   Joan, I was wondering, could it be a clipped-out Old

English Sheepdog, rather than a (ditto) Komandor - that light-eyed head doesn't completely

convince me its a would-be corded dog - and there are some piss-poor OES about, given

the over-breeding (Dulux Dog !) - whereas most Komandorok seem to be 'to their Standard'.

But then, Bee could just as easily be correct ...
