i also am abit of a pedigree enthusiast, the dogs themselves i am not aware of but their lines arent to bad. Optikas especially has a few good dogs in his line. There is a decent dosage of UGO in there, good dog but can bring Panobout in some cases. Many of the dogs here are strong dogs used in most pedigrees however, troll for example.

i have to chuckle to myself a bit. some folks think some of my dogs are "crazy bastards" too. i do know that there
were a number of belschik progeny that entered service work rather than dog sports. some folks just have a different
way of looking at dogs & may not see the gem there. some of those progeny were quite civil---would bite for real.
my ed is quite serious, but he also has a bit of humor & enjoys doing silly things just for fun. his son, on the other hand,
does not know fun or play. he just flat out doesn't understand it. he is very easy for me to handle on or off lead. he
listens very well, but you just don't f__k with that dog or you'll get bit---for real. he's not crazy, but he's not the sort of
dog you could ever do dog sports with. he wouldn't get it. to him everything is for real. bottom line is that all dogs are
different & people tend to look at them in a different light. i can see where folks who are sport oriented might think
that the belschik dogs are "crazy bastards." :)

Ziegenfarm is on the right track. My dogs' breeder is friends with Rinus. Years ago Rinus came over and he brought Dark with him. My friend worked him while he was here. He was a very serious, civil dog. Unlike ziegenfarm's dog he was not easy to handle, which is why I'm guessing he was never titled. The phrase crazy bastard seemed fitting based on the stories I've heard, but that doesn't meant he was a bad dog. In fact I think my friend quite liked the dog.
