I had FRIED GREEN TOMATOES last night for supper. THE town of Jacksonville, near me , is known for the TOMATO Fest every year. THE last of the green tomatoes were in their stands so I bought a huge bag and boy are they good..
You fry them just like the eggplant. I eat mine with Ketchup.
We had a big rain shower in TYler by Sams yesterday and I got my truck wet and I got out at a nearby restaurant and got wet on PURPOSE>
When I got across town and turned to go to MY house....NO RAIN>
Today at 5:30 it rained only enought to wet the roof . That is a good thing. A lot of homes here have sparked in the attic from the intense heat and not enought Attic Vents .
The nights are a tiny bit cooler around 2 am. I go out then and let all the dogs take turns running.
THEY seem to know , it is a fun time and their tongues are not hanging to their knees.
Rain is forecast for next week , possibly.
SO far I have lost 21 trees, including all my dogwoods, which totals half of that number. Every year for 3 yrs now I have lost at least 3 of my wild dogwoods due to drought.

"I feel so blessed with abundant water back here on the East Coast. We are having stellar summer days. Just clear blue skies with no humidity.

Now this is my kind of weather.
shelley - I wanna come and live with you in California. I live now in Birmingham, England. We had great weather from mid March through to the beginning of May where it was clear blue skies EVERY day with temperatures of around 23 degrees - so nice and warm (for here anyway).
Since then it's been mostly overcast with some sun but not much. Fortunately, it's stayed wrm but then some days we get high humidity and I can't stand that. I love the dry heat.
The weather you get in CA is very similar to the weather in south east Spain where my family live. I have to wait until my Son is older before moving out there (so he still sees his father and is old enough to make his own decision) although CA is looking to be a relevant contender for my move!

We have had really wet Summer over here, two days ago there was a terrific storm and we had water coming into the Kitchen through a Roof Light really pouring in, The Pigeon loft flooded as behind us in the farmers field is a Ditch that over flowed and it went straight in to the Aviary at the back with 5 inches of water on the Concrete base the Wood Slat Sections were 3 inches above the water height so the pigeons were okay but it made a hell of a mess, we are still trying to clear and dry it up.
10 miles away a Pop Festival was on, a Stand went down killing several and injuring a lot of people.
