So no objective tests of character strength to a set of criteria then, other than looks confident and drivey in a conformation ring.....alrighty then, sounds good enough I suppose.
As long as you feel happy.

A stranger has no respect for me?
WHATEVER WILL I DO?!?!!

@pfortnerhaus - I got that you don't like ASL dogs. (Me neither). Still does not explain why you showed us crappy video of UK 'germanic' S/L dogs like some sort of example; unless you know so much about the subject you can't tell what you are looking at, perhaps ?

Even if this is a dog that hasn't been temperament tested to a WL criteria, she has done so with the Ringside judges. And even if a WL aficionado will discount any such qualification, all that can be said by them is they just don't know at all if the winning bitch is soft and that unknown question deems her not breed worthy, specifically for them.
This dog, a GSD bitch won the most prestigious Conformation Dog Show in the USA 🇺🇸 and that is an accomplishment. If you don't like the venue entered, then that isn't the dog's issue. Rumour won top prize against hundreds of competing dogs and breeds and no one here is going to change that. She gets that honor for the whole entire year!
Why people need to interject with the same old complaints on a Conformation thread (yes, I noticed the mods moved it to here), is just besides the point.

I give her immense credit for being picked as BIS at Westminster DS. I don't know of any WL criteria for temperament, but I do know she is genetically soft in temperament, sight unseen. This would eliminate her from being breedworthy from my point of view....but that doesn't take away from her being a superb show dog!

I mean…I think I saw someone make the assumption that Rumor has amazing food drive based on the fact that she takes treats in the ring. Wow…dog takes treats from it’s handler…extreme food drive!
She’s a nice dog…but the stretches about her temperament and possible working ability are a joke. Although all you have to do is look at the breeding programs those defending her run themselves…everything is based off assumptions for them as well. Proof is no longer necessary. Defending Rumor is part of defending their own breeding program...set up videos, training pictures, and exaggerated stories rather than hard, verifiable, facts.

I just want to know why you say that. Only going by the Westminster clip I saw and my own experiences, however limited that may be, I wonder what you mean by "genetically soft". She wasn't timid, skittish, unsure, or frantic, as far as I could tell. The other drives prized by WL's for prey, defense, etc., I am not talking about because those clearly weren't being judged or measured. So, if those are what you are talking about could you please explain why you can say that, sight unseen?
Shouldn't the actual animal's existence take precedence over its papered one?

I just personally won't call someone else's hard, life's work a joke when I know for certain they are not approaching those goals with that frame of mind. Even if I don't agree with it, or understand it in the least. Like wrestling. Professional or otherwise. I can't understand for the life of me why anyone watches that stuff for more than 30 seconds. Yet, I don't feel compelled to tell the participants or their viewers they are a joke everytime I see these grown men grappling on the floor grabbing each other's flesh dressed in spandex tights.
As far as blowing accomplishments out of proportion, yes, I've seen that on here, many a times, and it isn't just the SL folk. Everytime someone throws a stick in a river and their dog goes after it and brings it back there are sure to be heaps of "great job" and "great dog" compliments all around. In my head, I am going... WTF? We do that ALL the time! What in the world is such a big deal?
People just like to brag about their dogs. I guess maybe... they don't have children? ;)))))
