Thanks soothersmaylive, I called a reproductive vet and she told me what my usual vet is doing is not enough, so I have to take her tommrow, this vet is about a 80 mile round trip, but it is worth it to me, cause this is my girl! she is going to keep her for 2 days to treat her. This has me so upset I don't know if I am coming or going at the moment!

Ditto on what soothersmaylive has said. Same experience with young bitch that pyo'd on her 2nd or 3rd season. Bred her next season, and she had a nice litter. Then we had her spayed.
The treatment sounds the same too. Will add it was expensive to treat. This was about 10 years ago and the vet's fee was almost $800.

I was strongly urged to breed my bitch on her next heat cycle, but refused since she was only about fourteen (14) months old and I had not yet x-rayed her hips. Even though she would have easily received an "a" Normal stamp (she passed as O.F.A. good) I just could not risk the unknown, since I had not done a preliminary x-ray.
Due to the timing of career issues and other things, I have not been able to breed her, and she will soon be four (4) years old. Maybe next spring I will give it a try.
