If the clubs or associations that register pups would implement minimum breeding requirements of the adults before they are allowed to breed then there would be no need for limited registrations and senseless contracts. These clubs can have breed specific requirements. Starting with each dog being shown at least once to see if it represents the breed standard. Does not have to be a Champion but should not have any disqualfying faults and should be recognizable as a dog of that breed. Next, health screening necessary for that breed should be done. Some of the working breeds can have basic working title requirements.
Just curious - how will the UKC refuse registration on basis of dysqualifying faults if they never see the dog they are registering?

DH--on the AKC registration, it tells what breed/color/markings the dog is. I think they were referring to cross registration of AKC registered dogs.
