After reading your post and the sellers ad, sounds like you are complaining about a great deal and saved on shipping. Going back to the seller first is always a good practice. I am new to this also and have had to go back to my breeder many times. She has never steered me wrong. Guess I am one of the lucky ones or just not a complainer.

I think this post is a good example to remind people that there are always two sides... ...and that commenting on a situation is so darn difficult, because some crucial information is usually left out. ...and that people should not always assume the worst right away. ...and that the root of all this has again been lack of communication, the right kind of communication.

I will respond to this post tomorrow when I get home from work and have the time. You are not correct in everything you are assuming and there is no need to get hysterical. I came to this forum for feedback and that is what I got and I thank all who gave me good info.

As I stated yesterday I am responding today to what the seller has said. There were many inaccuracies but I will try to be as concise as possible. First of all I came to this forum to get unbiased feedback and that is what I did get and I thank all of you who replied. I do not apologize for using the forum for what it was intended for. What I left out of my original posting was that it took a month and 2 emails to finally get the copies of the paperwork I was told I would receive after sending the deposit. This was offered by the seller and I think a month is plenty of time to wait. Also I was told that the dog developed a Hematoma after having pups then she said it was a week before. Either way the dog had some sort of ear problem prior to being posted for sale as the date on the ear meds I received for her, with her name on it, was 3 days before being posted for sale. I never said my workingline female was titled, I said it was my showline male, and since all of my emails were saved the seller should have no problem verifying this. I did not accuse anyone, yes I had concerns, and yes after getting valuable feedback I did feel better. I did contact the seller once we did get home with the dog and was again reassured she was a great house dog, which she was not - but can be eventually I am sure. As far as saying thank you for dinner goes, and this part is so silly, we most certainly did thank her for her offer of dinner and we commented on how good the food was and her response was "Oh, no problem". We are not without manners after all. I contacted the seller about what I wanted to and came to this forum for what it had to offer, its that simple. If she chooses to get hysterical and go shooting her mouth off about things she could easily verify from my emails, then so be it. I sent her the link to my vet and told her I could not find the fax number (on the site) and never asked her to find it or worse told her to, how rude that would have been. I should not have had to ask for her records at all and they should have been included at the time of sale. Whoop-dee-doo, its all over now. The facts speak for themselves, the seller purchased a dog that was trained and titled with no problems and in turn sold that dog after getting 2 litters out of her with very little manners and a permanent affliction after being in her care, thats just the way it is. I have no hard feelings but would not return the dog to the seller as I feel if ever I did choose to part with her that she would deserve a home with someone who could give her better care than she received previously. She did describe herself as being "an ol' fart" , so perhaps her mental clarity is slipping, I do not know, nor do I care. End of issue.

By the title of your post "What have I bought" you were already saying this was a shady deal without going back to the seller first. Your questions should have been asked to the seller first before making accusations.I don't blame the seller for being angry and defending themself. As the saying goes People who live in glass houses should'nt throw stones.

Christina, Please let us all know your real full name. So, that we can all remember it for future reference. You should be more careful about bashing people on a public forum. More than one person has been prosecuted for Liable and/or slander for alot less than you have said.

by Christina on 27 July 2006 - 01:07

I didnt bash anyone, and I did go to the seller first , just to be shined on some more. I dont care what any of you think, you obviously spend too much time on the computer. Good luck with a prosecution, slander has to be proven to be a lie and damage has to be proven. Get informed. I stated concerns and if thats too hard for you to understand I do not care, I received the feedback I wanted and if you dont like it I do not care.

FYI: Libel: (not liable) is in print Slander: Verbal (spoken)

You could have used this forum to state your concerns in a less offensive way. The title "What have I bought??" set the tone for your entire post. I don't blame the breeder for getting defensive. But I can also understand your concerns, which you agree were eased with a little input and explainations from members of this forum. Its not necessarily what you say it's how you say it. There are two sides to every story. Titles have nothing to do with manners especially with high drive working lines. You won't really find out what training she has behind her until you form a bond with her and work her on the SchH field. Best wishes, Melanie

Christina, a lot of females seem to get minor infections during pregnancy or just after delivery- it's probably just due to the strain on their systems. A bottle of topical medication isn't really evidence that the seller knew of any further condition. Also, as someone pointed out above, if you received the dog shortly after she had pups, she wouldn't be looking her best- it takes a few months for the dog to get her shape back. GSDbecca, I just checked out your ads. Great looking dogs, I love the Czech lines.
