Really?  Remember 2 unfunded wars, medicare prescription drug plan, no child left behind, and across the board tax breaks equaling massive debt?  I wish he'd got nothing done!

I think that Shrimpton guy is just stirring the pot. He really doesn't explain (other than about Obama's birth certificate) to the reader how the Electoral College works - so his readers, if they have no clue, are left in the dark to believe everything he says. Someone reading his column who knows how the Electoral College works understands he's stirring the pot of disenfranchised voters on both sides. He should have explained the Electoral College better than what he did - then, I think, it wouldn't come off as a hit piece on the President. JMO.

The whole Bush vs Gore fiasco in Florida in 2000 is a good example - the SCOTUS decided the popular vote went to Bush by something like 500 votes - meaning he won the entire state plus electoral college votes. Florida is one of 4 states that are winner take all in the general election. But, remember, there are many more than 4 winner take all smaller states during the primary.

Look at the presidency of John Adams. Andrew Jackson won the popular vote but Adams won the presidency because the House of Representatives voted it to him. Yes, the House of Representatives where Ron Paul has been for the past 30 years. Thomas Jefferson was also voted in by the House of Representatives.

Rutherford Hayes is a great example (me as a Ron Paul supporter) he won the presidency with 0 popular votes and 22 in the electoral college by primary votes. (Ron Paul has 64 at this moment  ) Remember the electoral college delegates and super delegates were voted in during the primary - regardless of who either (primary/general) popular vote winner is. Noone knows at this point who the electoral college support - (unless your campaign staff - ha) the MSM says they are bound to a candidate by party rules but that is nowhere in the party or FEC rule book. They vote by conscience. Noone knows anything till after December 10th when the electoral college announces it's decision for the White House.

So the bottom line is - this isn't over yet. The Electoral College is designed to "swing" smaller states in the election to the less popular vote in each state and who would best lead the country honoring the document (US Constitution) that brought them into existance to begin with.

That said, I'm still in hopes Ron Paul can pull off a Jefferson, Adams or Lincoln with the Electoral College with his 64 (slim chance I know) - but, beings the SCOTUS awarded Bush (because Florida was contested in a court of law then moved to the SCOTUS) the winner take all state of Florida in 2000 - that could very well be the outcome for Obama vs Romney. I honestly hope not, but I don't put anything past Romney. He knows if contested and sent to a court the SCOTUS would be the deciding factor. Although Obama appointed, what was it, 3 Supreme Court Justices sooo - again, it will be a massive waste of tax payers dollars for Romney to contest Obama in Florida and the 11 states he's currently contesting.

This is ridiculous how we have to sit, wait and watch 2 traitors of the Constitution fighting to win or be reseated in the White House as POTUS.

Morning Bee, It's funny you asked about my "friend" because I got a PM from his wife on FB day before yesterday asking me now that the election was over could we be friends again. LOL  I told her sure why not but I wasn't sure I was ready to talk to Larry again because he really pissed me off. So I sent her a friend request--she never accepted it but the next day she said that yep he could be an asshole and how much she missed and loved me and all that. I told her well it was all fine and good and I wonder how many people were apologizing to each other this week--that was for HER benefit--I told you in the beginning Bee that I might not want to talk to him after the election and really I don't. It was stupid and all uncalled for. I don't know if you do FB or any of that or what your friends send you through email but there was a "poster" floating around about Michelle Obama for the first woman Prez--well I shared it on my wall and he wrote me and said WTF was wrong with me and went on and on just ranting and cussing. So I am sure he is pissed because Obama got reelected and I just don't want to hear all that. Had Romney won, I would be highly disappointed and more worried about how all this was going to play out but all that ranting and raving and cussing is ridiculous. We all went and voted for the one we thought would be the best and that's all one can do.

Something I read on that Addicting Info.com last night I thought was funny about Romney though.........Remember when it was decided it was over? Well remember Romney hadn't written a speech to lose gracefully so he took his sweet time coming out? I'll tell you guys what he was doing--canceling his staff's credit cards. Yep they say they went to pay their cab fares home and the cards had been canceled and canceled that night..................Can you believe that? I'm not dumb and whoever the Prez is this spending has to stop and this printing money we don't have. But come on guys what the heck would Romney have done as soon as he got in office if this was his mindset?........................

I think there are quite a few strained relationships due to the results of the election.

I hadn't heard that about Romney.

Many I think feared Romney would outsource our country to the cheapest bidder, sell off shares if he could, lining his own pocket along the way.

What's really sad is that now that the elections are over all that passion goes away and it's business as usual once again.

Voniisk...Oh, for me it is already all forgotten! Too busy worrying about losing power these days, I guess. And digging out snow boots that don't seem to fit anybody. Perhaps in time even your friend's hubby will ease up? Hmmm, maybe smoke a peace pipe with them, share some of that homegrown you were talking about, LOL, maybe that will mellow him out! BUT... I thought the papers said Romney gave a gracious concession speech? Didn't hear it myself. And Obama wants to reach out and work together... blah blah blah...

What is ridiculous Moons, is thinking Romney NEEDS to line his pockets... they are already lined, so what you said makes zero sense to me. You know back in the earliest days of the Romans, to be a Senator, I believe you had to have a certain amount of wealth, to qualify to be elected. So, the idea that wealth enables people to actually enter into politics is very old.  SSDD, indeed.

One thing's for sure, if they don't start working together we're all screwed.
As for the wealthy, they can never be wealthy enough, it's a trait they start out with that never goes away.

Moons, do you ever play the lottery? What would you do if you won say, a million dollar jackpot? Would you change who you basically are, and suddenly want two million? I think your blanket statements are inaccurate to say the least. And I could say much, much more.

I don't play the lottery, when you gamble the odds are always in favor of the house, the odds of winning a lottery are astronomical to say the least, fools play sponsored by our government.
It's still illegal to gamble in private by the way.

I do bet at the horse races when I go but that's a different type of gamble.
