Very well, I stand corrected. Shtal doesn't know Jack. Thanks for clarifying.

GSDtravels you and others did not accuse Shtal of knowing Jack. You accused him of being Jack; there is a difference. Lets move on and any other concerns about this issue can be addressed to a moderator by PM.

By attempting to legislate against gay marriage, you are forcing your beliefs on free citizens of these United States. Until you can learn to keep your beliefs in your church and off the table where legislation is concerned, you are giong against what you, yourself are preaching and you have no understanding of your own bookBy attempting to legislate against gay marriage, you are forcing your beliefs on free citizens of these United States. Wrong! Marriage is an institution that involves the union of a male and female that was STARTED BY THE CHURCH NOT THE GOVERNMENT!
In this country there is supposed to be a seperation of Church & State.
Where does the govenment get off trying to legislate change into a religious practice. It's none of the governments business.

It's not about the ceremony, it's about the paperwork.
And isn't this a bit off topic.

So what if gays can marry legally? They are paying their way and contributing to society. Why do so many feel threatened by the gay population of this country? Why all the righteous indignation? What gives any of us the right to judge them? Milk anyone?

Blitzen I have friends who are gay. I had gay employees. I treat everyone the same.
I don't personally care what they do.
They have no right altering religion to suit themselves.
Aren't you an atheist?
Don't you believe in the separation of church and state?
The political whore party uses them for votes.

Wrong! If that were the case, Atheists wouldn't be able to legally marry. Marriage is a LEGAL contract between two CONSENTING adults. Matrimony is a ceremony performed by a Church. One deals with the LEGAL issues surrounding the contract of marriage and the other deals with the SPIRITUAL issues surrounding a religious blessing in matrimony. A Minister still has to be registered with the State in order to perform the cermeony as a LEGAL union and nobody is attempting to force Churches to perform SPIRITUAL ceremonies against their beliefs, they can deny ANY couple the RELIGIOUS ceremony. That couple is still FREE to have a legal marriage by anyone certified to sign the LEGAL documents.

I could quite figure that out either, what DOES marriage have to do with religion?
