Where was I for Rose Perot ?? Keith, I was a senior in high school. Only became political on September 11th 2001 and have been voting for Ron Paul ever since. LOL As a matter fact I think I'm just going to vote my conscience and write Ron Paul in on the ballot for the rest of my life as a protest vote if we don't get Ron Paul POTUS 2012. There will never be another peaceful defender of the constitution like Ron Paul running for POTUS - The next defender of the Constitution worthy of POTUS will demand war. LOL But you never know he/she may have my vote. LOL

"The working class needs jobs.........Obama has not been able to deliver."

This is a lie.  The reality is that the private sector has added 415,000 jobs since Obama took office.  Contrast that with his predecessor whose administration had lost 1.6 million jobs by this time in his tenure.  Obama's net job loss to date is about 261,000 compared to Bush's 856,000 when he was up for reelection.  Looking at the numbers, it should be obvious to any thinking person that while the public sector was growing the government and adding government jobs under Bush, the public sector under Obama has been shedding them.  You all claim that you want less spending and smaller government but when you get it, you bitch about the unemployment caused by putting those public sector employees out of work.  No matter what Obama does or doesn't do, he'll be wrong in your eyes so it only makes sense that we look for something other than his policies to explain why your ilk despises him so.

I'm still not clear how all of you reconcile your constant blathering about people who expect the government to do everything for them and then blame that same government for not providing you a job.  The private sector is healthy; the stock market is doing very well and corporate profits are strong.  People need to wake up and realize that the heyday of American manufacturing is over and that they will need to change with the times and learn new skills if they want to get employment.

http://www.cnn.com/2012/09/05/politics/fact-check-obama-jobs/index.html

Nonfarm private payrolls hit a post-recession low of 106.8 million that month, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. The figure currently stands at 111.3 million as of July. While that is indeed a gain of 4.5 million, it's only a net gain of 300,000 over the course of the Obama administration to date. The private jobs figure stood at 111 million in January 2009, the month Obama took office. And total nonfarm payrolls, including government workers, are down from 133.6 million workers at the beginning of 2009 to 133.2 million in July 2012. There's been a net loss of nearly 1 million public-sector jobs since Obama took office, despite a surge in temporary hiring for the 2010 census.

If government jobs numbers are taken out of the stats, the job loss for the middle class is horrible.

BTW - I chose CNN, because they tend to be liberal........

"If government jobs numbers are taken out of the stats, the job loss for the middle class is horrible."

WTF?  Do you have issues with reading comprehension?  What you just posted says that as of that writing (which was a couple of weeks prior to the figures I posted), there was a net increase of 300,000 private sector (i.e., does not include government job numbers) jobs.  How is an increase in jobs horrible for the middle class?

Again, the wholesale job losses are occurring in public sector (government) jobs...one million of them from the article you posted.  So do you want smaller government that spend less or don't you because that's exactly what you're bitching about!

by SitasMom on 26 September 2012 - 15:09

Many of the private sector jobs which are noted are directly tied to government jobs.......subtract them and the gain would be a loss.

I want a federal government that stay within the confines of the constitution........

Best I can tell it would be cut by about 90%.....if this were so - state, county and local government would grow, but that's ok, the tax $$ would be staying local.......and voters would have much, much more control.

There is a radio station I listen to on my way to school and back because they have a native talk show I like. On the half hours they have the AP news. Yesterday they said unemployment has dropped and the housing market has become more stable with less forclosures. They said that more houses are being sold right now. I think that is definately a step in the right direction.

I had wondered because I notice here more empty lots are being sold and houses to sell are being built on them. And it only makes sense that there have to be people to buy these houses or they wouldn't keep building them...........

So I definately think things ARE getting better. We need to continue this because I believe the changes Obama said he would bring to us are happening--what he inherited cannot be fixed in one term and especially since he has been fought at every turn.
