Shelley Strohl

by Shelley Strohl on 28 January 2007 - 23:01

When you buy a dog from me, you get ME in the bargain, for the life of the dog. Some people would choke and call that "no bargain" but most appreciate my help. Good thing. Saves me jumping off a bridge from having my feelings hurt. ...which brings up another point. How come the attacks are so vicious on this board? If I were Alabama K9, apparently having bent over backwards, above and beyond the call of duty in my book, trying to make things righter-than-right with some rude, unhappy, oportunistic customer, I would probably be in tears today. (I cry easily... and am known to pout, too.) Surely there is some other more appropriate outlet for public demonstrations of vicious behavior. I hear the Iraqi insurgents are recruiting. "A dog for every job, and a job for every dog." Shelley

Hi Spook101, Wish I was smarter! What I really wish was that I could sell only for money and charge for all the time and money I have spent on unwanted GSDs, and wish I could charge for all the help I have provided people who bought from people who DID only see the money. Almost weekly I turn people away. Hell, I could even pay my mortgage on this great facility I built if it was simply about money for me. But it is not, and it can never be about the money only for me and for a few on this site. I have to live with myself and more than anything else for me, integrity is everything. I also believe I AM responsible for the things I bring to this world, including puppies. If more people felt responsiblity on a number of levels, I believe this world and certainly our society would be much better off. What I can say in this dispute is that I know nothing about it. Howeve, what I can say from experience is that there is ALWAYS some truth on all sides. When one intervenes in some of these disputes, as I have with permission of involved parties, one often learns that indeed, there was no contract, indeed, the breeder wanted simply to get the dog/pup sold, there are mistruths about papers etc., conditions are changed after the fact and without amending the contract etc. Who knows what really happened here. However, again, this person and this kennel has repeatedly been mentioned on this site over several years as having questionable practices. Is it true? I do not know, but I can tell you that would be enough for me to look elsewhere. And if the buyer had the dog as long as was posted, then that too suggests he has his head in the dark, deep place. People do not learn. If I were this kennel, I would long ago have resolved this. Is it worth having your name on this or other sites where someone, with some complaint, suggests you cheated him? I know how I would answer that question......... Best regards.

Thanks Shelley,, I think Alabama K9 needs to keep her money in her pocket, shes not taking a stand....hard enough.....Its a little late in the game to ask for the money back, in fact down right unethical......I guess that why the Dallas Football Coach is hanging it up again....hes tired of trying to make something work that wont.....its not his fault, its what hes working with and the wrong combination from the beginning....Alabama K9 sold a dog for this person ...she didnt say shed hold him hand till 8 mos old and if the dog stumbles she give money back ....enough of this.......

To start, go with your gut feelings. Ask questions: Have you had a GSD or large working dog Where will the dog live Tell me about yourself and family What are you looking for in a dog Tell me about the backyard Do you have other pets ask ask ask If you ask enough questions the buyers will respect you as a breeder and you will gain knowledge about them and hopefully run off any NUT JOBS(LOL). There's nothing wrong with asking questions. If they don't like it, so be it..This is a living soul..

Yes, Karma, and evidentually she missed something,,,but u dont hand money back at this time unless u agreed to that in a contract and this is not a hd issue or bad health issue, I dont think, anyway....I dont know AlabamaK-9, but I do know another Alabama breeder that wont answer certified mail when the pup they sold is hd and contract never honored so contract or not....if they wont answer the mail and wont answer the phone and agree to do what is right and u live 1500 miles from their court....oh well , screwed in Texas.......cases everywhere like these.....unsolved...breeder has to make mind as to how to handle.....this one seems to ask for what is not really a refund condition....this thread ask for these opinions, so that is why the opinion is given.....

How can Alabama K9 and Marlene keep her money in her pocket when it is my money? That is stealing and dishonesty. I returned her a dog after one year that did not work out for me. I told Marlene what the dog would be used for. The dog was not the right dog for me and what i wanted to do with it. She offered to take the dog back and replace with a puppy of my choice. I thought that was great. But she decided to keep the replacement puppy, and also my original 1500.00 dollars. So she sold the original puppy for 2500.00 that i paid 1500.00 that is 1000.00 profit for her then has also kept my original purchase price of 1500.00 and will not return my money because she does not have any money she is broke per our phone conversation on Sat, Jan 27 2007. Look at all the past references to how she has ripped people off on this database alone 8 or 10. I know I will not see my 1500.00 or even a puppy, so i can only tell my story and warn others before it happens to them.

As a breeder how would you feel if someone took a puppy and wrote you a bad check for 1500.00? would you be considered nuts for wanting your money?

There are alot of fat pig women in the dog business. You will most definately come across several of those fat porkers. Beware!

Funk Man, I was a little of a fan of yours but why the post above? Who are you talking about? Do you think that all women that deal with dogs are "fat pig women"? I am kind of hurt here! I really wish this thread was not hi-jacked by the NUT! I wanted real answers to the question and only the question I asked! With no deviation from the question! Vickie
