Carlin

Moons, the problem I see with allowing things to go on without a resolution may be found in the GOP's suggestions post-shutdown.  The first thing they wanted, was to "prioritize", to pick and choose what they wanted taken care of.  I can imagine, that letting it all burn to the ground, would involve the manipulation of government such that certain interests would be protected, while others fell by the wayside.  Take the bail-out for example.  American taxpayers money funneled to the too-big-to-fail banks, whereupon the funds were sat on, with some of of paid out as huge executive bonuses.

Part of the Blackmail I saw on TV last night, a mother can't get her son, back from the war in a box, buried or collect the One Hundred Thousand dollar benefit for a dead son until the shut down ends.
I didn't know about the One Hundred Thousand dollars, that's quite a sum moms, just think of what you could do with all that money.

A drop in the bucket, not even a drop compared to what the military industrial complex gets from the tax payers.
Not worth a losing a son over.

What do the innocent victims of our wars receive?

All in the name of freedom and protecting us from terrorism.....bullshit!

Carlin,
yes your right no matter what there's gonna be the same old shit again and my hopes would be that the people get angry enough to change all that.
Do a bit of firing of their own.
Either way, somethings gotta give and it better make sense.

Both sides seem to care more about money and special interests than representing the people.

Imagine how different it would be if politicians were volunteers.
Elected by the people.
Lobbyists outlawed.
Educate people instead of sending them to war.
Build America from the inside out, instead of out-sourcing it.
An honest days wage for an honest days work.
Live by the laws we make instead of bending them to fit the needs of a few.
Live within our means.
Tell the truth for a change.
So many possibilities.
Break the yokes that bind us.

I agree moons, but there are some very "bad" words that go along with all of that which modern society may not be willing to accept.  Restraint, sacrifice, temperance, consideration, commitment, resolve, to name a few.  Even those who are not part of the select few "elite" have become so addicted to our lifestyle, that if they went, they may only do so kicking and screaming.   This is known by all, and used.  A better life is ransomed by the life as we have grown used to, and seem to believe is superior somehow.

No one's going to willingly give up anything, it will need to just happen.
Let it happen.
The real tragedy is it should have never gotten this far, this began a long time ago.
How long should it go on?

Former Neurosurgeon Benjamin Carson on the "Affordable Healthcare Act".   A tad too far to the right, but there certainly is merit there.

For the thinking folks out there, condsider this. As of October 9th, the US Congress approval rating was 5%. Just 5% of the population believes in the leadership of the country. Before getting all partisan, the answer is no, the numbers are not only indicative of the GOP majority in the House.

Think for a moment, about the significance of a people so disenfranchised by their "representation". I would submit that if you are not immediately sobered, regardless of political persuasion, you may need to think a bit harder, and a bit longer.

You know what, I'd be totally fine with the whole thing if they had the interests of the American in mind. BTW - what does it mean that the other thread is "locked up"?
