In different points in time the name and meaning for things change. This is tidbit about Rome (They killed JC)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homosexuality_in_ancient_Rome
"Same-sex attitudes and behaviors in ancient Rome often differ markedly from those of the contemporary West. Latin lacks words that would precisely translate "homosexual" and "heterosexual".[1]
Attitudes toward same-sex behavior changed as Christianity became more prominent in the Empire. The modern perception of Roman sexual decadence can be traced to early Christian polemic.[194] Apart from measures to protect the liberty of citizens, the prosecution of homosexual acts as a general crime began in the 3rd century of the Christian era"
So, I am seeing christianity had a problem with homosexuality 300 years after JC's death.
Chaz is right though, even now some people hide it by choice.

lol Paz Romana, before 300 AD
"Pax Romana (Latin for "Roman peace") was the long period of relative peace and minimal expansion by military force experienced by the Roman Empire in the 1st and 2nd centuries AD. "

Chaz:
I watched Mr. Rodgers and I wasn't influenced into deciding I was gay
Mr. Rogers wasn't gay. He was effeminate, but he was married with children. If you want to argue that he was a closet gay, I guess that's a possibility, but if he was, it's not something he shared and I doubt he ever acted on it. He was a local war hero and also lived here filmed his show here in Pittsburgh. Rumors travel at light speed here and there was never a peep about one bit of indiscretion on his part. I don't judge people "gay" or "not gay", I usually just judge them on how they act to other people, so I don't try to guess. Just sayin' :)

The proof is in the provided equipment.
LOL, you mean a penis that is prominent enough to rub against pretty much anything when erect? I didn't realize it had vagina GPS implanted, LMAO! And a vagina that can be stimulated by rocking back and forth on an surfact uneven enough to reach the front-facing clitous? You mean that equipment? You're funny :)

It always comes to the same end on every single thread relating to ethical issues. Those of faith ( meaning Christian faith ) vs those without faith / or faith in another god etc ,,,
We will never agree! It's laughable really that we all continue trying to convince the other of their error. Bottom line is that those that live according to what scripture teaches will always submit to biblical authority no matter the political correctness or popularity of it's standards/ exhortations etc,,and likewise those with no faith live according to what they feel is right in their own eyes and so on,,,,
From a biblical perspective there is absolutely no secret as to what is taught with respect to homosexual behavior. It's ridiculous to argue that point. A child can pick up a bible and understand what it has to say about the topic.
From a secular point of view, well, uh" anything goes lol . There is no limit to the opinions, standards, and feelings about the topic.
So not sure why we bother debating it. The two will never see eye to eye and shouldn't be expected to.
So Chaz , the moral of the story is you and your friend will never resolve your differences without Devine intervention !

Yes, it always is the same with those with no imagination, too. That insult is typical of course. What else can you do when you are intellectually lazy?

Ruger, i gotta agree with the bulk of that post, i think you are right that the two viewpoints
will never agree, and that those who follow scripture will "submit to biblical authority", no matter
what. That is the right of those individuals, to live their lives as they see fit - no matter how wrong
and prejudiced their view / "knowledge", and how antiquated and unrealistic it is.
The sad thing though, is how often that viewpoint is expressed not as a way to live their lives,
but as a bigoted prescription for everybody else to behave and live life.
