I really like Long Boat Key and most of the Gulf coast. I often wish I were closer to the shore.

I wish these weather people would be consistant from website to website .. now the 8:00pm update said "TROPICAL STORM FORCE WINDS EXTEND OUTWARD UP TO 185 MILES...295 KM MAINLY TO THE NORTHEAST OF THE CENTER" but look at this visual .. doesn't it look to be going west ? lol

It's the only job I know of where one can be wrong more than right, stay employed, and never held accountable. The weather channel almost sounds disapppointed that the track is turning westward. Now they are talking about the 5 worst FL hurricanes in history. I guess that's intended to scare us LOL.

We got handed a list of what to do in the event of an evac and one would need a semi to transport all the stuff....ropes, disinfectant wipes, water purifying tablets, enough dog food for 2 weeks, a crate, peepads, a crate cover, 2 gallons of water per person per day, canned meat and veggies for 2 weeks,   a can opener, cots, blow up mattresses, clothing, cell phone, games, toiletries, t-paper, 2 full pages of stuff most of which I don't have, never have. Oh, we are supposed to learn to text too. Fat chance............

There is so much more to do here than where I lived in PA. I really like Ybor; I am a history buff, love those bungalows too. I had my first Mojito at the Columbia Restaurant. Did you see the Rooster parade last week?  

I'm still trying to make it to the Ringling. So far my favorite FL trips have been to the Keys of course and the Everglades. Thanks for the tip about Nokomis, we will make sure we get there before November.
