News for elementary school shooting in Connecticut - Page 2

I could not imagine waiting at a fire house waiting to find out if my children survived such a horrible tragedy.  My prayers go out to the families dealing with heart ache and pain from this selfish unimaginable act! I can only hug and hold my own children extra hard tonight and thank God for every day we have together...

The media really pisses me off.

I agree Moons!  I can see a news break when something like this happens.  But we don't need minute to minute updates or continuing coverage.  Cover it big on the evening news, but what they do is a circus.  It stirs emotions and fears.  I'm betting we'll be losing more rights.  Nobody understands what it means to live in a free society, we now expect a nanny.

That said, my heart goes out to the families and friends of all involved, including the responders.  Nobody that this touches will ever be the same, part of them will die along with the victims.  Very sad, indeed.

This was Diane Sawyer, they make me sick and it's just exploitation pure and simple.

Sad. If you're gonna go shoot someone, go kill criminals, drug dealers, etc., not innocent children. Definitely a mentally sick individual. Is that ever a question?

Don't doubt that you have to be 'ill' in some way mentally, to go on
a shooting spree - but like Chaz says, why not take your gun into
a crack den or somewhere;  why does it have to be soft targets
like schools  ?   [Not advocating that people should shoot up crack
dens, btw - every victim is someones son or daughter !]  

So terrible. My heart goes out to all involved in this mess.


Also  agree with Moons and Travels, about media coverage - sick.

The friggin media rewards the scum who do these horrendous acts posthumously.......that's why each one seems to be worse than the last, they have to keep upping the ante to outdo the last scumbag that got lots of media coverage !

It is so awful talking to people around here. Incredibly hard to think about because we all have our kids to hug and even yell at, and we know families just like us aren't prepared to never have any of that with their baby, ever again. They had no idea this evil would take so much from them.  All they know is their baby probably died with pain and fright, and they weren't there to save them from any of it. 

The authorities are getting ready to release the names soon. I am so dreading to hear a name that might sound familiar.

I really haven't watched too much of the media stuff, and when I did it was the local news. I learned CNN is way fast. We had (deadbeat) relatives we hadn't heard from in years suddenly call us to make sure it wasn't our kids, and they knew of the deaths when all I had heard still, was about the three sent to the hospital! I was shocked! Thinking wounded when all of a sudden it was unspeakable numbers of dead children.

Very weird. We can't want to live like this.

I don't think they'll ever use that school building again. That's what people are saying.  When it is done being a crime scene, most think it will be bulldozed.  

now...how "interesting" is this connection!
