Oh hey Debbie (Nice to meetcha by the way!)
I'm seriously thinking about joining the animal rights activist group. I'm so tired of some of the laws down here in Florida. We invaded the wet lands in Florida and with such laws allowing theses murdering wildlife control officers to kill an alligator over 8 feet tall is just pathetic! Not only that but when some drunken idiot at a county fair putting his hands inside a tigers cage to get mauled at by the tiger (Hey to the tiger, Its fresh meat dangling )
The tiger gets screwed and ordered to be put to sleep because it got a taste of human blood from a stupidity of some drunken idiot. I strongly believe that Zoos should be illegal
simply because we SHOULD not have the right to take a wild animal out of the wild just so people can make a buck.
Im boycotting
Circus and Zoos (I do not believe in slaving wild animals for entertainment)
Alaska (The government allows people to shoot down wolves on an airplane)
KFC (Kentucky fried cruelty, as far as I can see it)
Im also getting ready to help an ORG to take down a popular so called celebrity kennel thats located around my area. This kennel gets their dogs from well known puppy mills. They had a protest going on March 11th but that was the same day that my Schutzhund club was trialing. Hopefully they will do another protest on the days that Im free.
Can you tell me which group you belong too? What do you do as an animal rights activist? Feel free to send me an email if you want.
An unplanned litter is at times just that. Have you ever watched a dog scale a 6 1/2' chain link fence? The fact is that when the time is "right" some dogs, male and female, cannot be kept confined unless crated. Stories abound of females being bred through a fence. I wouldn't jump to conclusions and call Doomsayer names until all facts are known.
I usually just sit back and read, but could not help myself this time.
Dear Doomsayer, how are you? Don't get discouraged. I know it is tough, because you are asking for help and instead of advice, you get bashed by self-righteous people. Yes, your trainer acted extremely irresponsible but that is water down the bridge. Hopefully, you can find help on time.
And I guess the next time, any of us place a dog for training, we should get her spayed and him neutered. Is there a point?
Good Luck,
Chris
P.S. Beware of animal rights activists. Next thing they might suggest is that you put your kids up for adoption, so you can properly take care of this mess. We all know their priorities!
Silbersee excuse me? BEWARE of people like me and Debbie? PLEASE! Im proud to be doing what Im planning on doing. I am actually going to be spending my time helping animals rather then using my dogs as income and using them as breeding machines. It breaks my heart seeing such beautiful animals like the wolf (Note: A cousin of the GSD breed) being shot by hunters in airplanes and seeing them run for their lives.
FYI I would NEVER suggest to anybody to put their kids up for adoption. I dont know why you even brought that up in the first place. Its plan out silly.
Brittany, as usual you are missing the point. I am not going to argue with you. Grow up. I have not even addressed you. But I will give you one piece of advice: Before joining any Animal Rights Activist Group, please read that book "The hijacking of the humane movement". FYI, animal rights activists do not have the best interest of animals in mind. They only want to "liberate" animals from human care and leave them to fend for themselves.
Go back and play with your toys!!!
Hi Silbersee,
I should have said I stand for the rights of all innocent living beings, whether they be children, adults or animals. The fact that there are millions of children, women and men that are born into circumstances in which they do not have a choice in how they live their lives and are at the mercy of inhumane treatment by their fellow human beings elicits the same emotions in me. Of course I do not equate the life of a child with a dog, just their innocence.
My point is that we all make choices. Have integrity and do the right thing whether it pertains to people or animals. Don't pawn your responsibilites off on someone else just because it incoveniences you.
Ok, I'm stepping off my soap box for the evening!
Doomsayer

Gsheplvr,
under different circumstances I would have agreed with you. But this situation is not like that. He is not pawning his responsibilities onto somebody else. He is trying to set priorities and acting responsibly in finding help. Children and family first, then the dog! I love dogs too, and no, I never had an unplanned litter (only a lot of planned breedings not resulting in a litter, lol).
So, let us give him some advice, for the sake of this female, shall we?
Doomsayer, you asked a question about DNA testing? This is only possible if both animals have DNA samples taken and stored with the AKC. FMI, I would contact the AKC and ask about this testing. I am sure it is possible for a price.
Next, I would contact vets (they might know of breeders or people), AKC clubs in your area(contact info should be available through the AKC) and breed rescue organizations. Don't procrastinate, hurry up. If the puppies are already visible on the x-ray, she must be quite far along already.
Good Luck,
Chris
I am in Montana, 14 hours from Minneapolis so a 2 day trip, but am more than willing to help if I can. You will see i have placed ads looking to lease or purchase a female for 1 litter, so I can get another bloodline. I have a puppy whelping room and your dog would be well cared for. I have references and a vet within 5 minutes of my home if complications arise. Email me at vomveiderheiss@nemont.net
I wish you lots of luck and hope for quick placement of your unplanned litter.
Kari
vomveiderheiss:
Although it was very nice for you to step up to the plate, the bitch was accidentally bred while at the trainers....they aren't even sure who the sire is! That sure could start a new bloodline for ya! I'm sure the trainer doesn't ONLY train GSD's! Could end up a mix of some kind...who knows? :)
Doomsayer: I think you are doing the best you can with the cards you've been dealt. You should stick to your request for someone locally so your bitch doesn't have to be put through added stress of travel....sounds like she's pretty far along.
