I call it civil disobedience,
everyone should stay home, stop paying taxes, and stop spending money, everyone, for at least three days.
Invest heavily in strike anywhere matches.
We all know we're screwed, we just don't want to admit it.

One thing is for sure, it's not all just going to go away. With every generation, people seem to become more self-absorbed, almost hypnotized to what's really changing. Increasingly, people relate to the phone, the computer, the television, email, and almost all business is electronic. People are in tune with the system, and less so with nature, other people, faith, etc. This makes for a people easy to steer.

You really should see the pbs program, the end deals with what's to come, or at least what's possible.

Maybe the public knows what a goof Biden really is. Did you hear about his "wrong number" phone calls this morning? LOL
Carlin,
I feel so bad for your little first grader self! I would bet you are the oldest sibling, too, aren't you? That surely was a lesson from the school of hard knocks!

Yes, I am the oldest sibling Bee; what gave that away? Hard knocks, it was far from pleasant at times, but I wouldn't trade it away. That dichotomy, and the many places I've been and things I've experienced typically allows me to anticipate the world around me, in any number of settings. What can be amusing, is the difficulty people have nailing me down, with the vexation which results from elementary assumption.
Biden is a joke, and he hides it poorly. What concerns me with the Dem candidates, is that the current political climate is one which favors a candidate with a more extreme ideogy, while the GOP candidate will necessarily be more moderate. To the typical voting Democratic concerned with little more than a party line, this may seem ideal on the surface, with the potential damage assessment likely a decade or so into the future.

Carlin, you ask "what gave that away"? LOL Well, I just reasoned, if you had an older sibling walking with you to school, a single 13 year old bully probably would not like the odds and would not have pounced on you. Since you were alone and six years old, and you had no choice but to do as your parents instructed and had to walk to school, then you must have been the oldest kid, because I know you have a sister.

When you describe the political scene as you do, which I tend to agree with, and in contemplating a Hillary as President, it makes me cringe.

"Buy your pecans now for the holiday season", according to this article. A more modest crop out of Georgia, combined with high demand from China may drive prices through the holiday season.

Now, for those of us living on the southern frontier, fresh pecans are something which can be had for cheap money on the side of the road (or off of one of the trees in your backyard
). However, leave it to yours truly to see problems with the larger picture here. I admit I am no economist, but common sense would seem to indicate we have a bit of an issue. If we begin with the idea that US interests in Chinese off-shore industry has diminished and devalued the American laborer and his wage, and add to that the idea that prices for our domestic products are driven by demand abroad (One grower admitted to better margins exporting to China), how is it then any wonder why we have some of the economic problems we do? I understand the concept of free-market as well as the next guy, so no need to go there. I suppose however, that as long as we are willing to completely "sell out", we should have no illusions as to our nations continuing instability. Not so long ago, it was reported that the Chinese' acquisition of Smithfield foods was approved, with China looking to secure pork imports and pricing. Some will quickly point toward protecting against isolationism, but at this stage of the game, I cannot see any merit to that argument. What many of us have known to be the United States is some serious trouble, and if ever we needed to look after our own interests, it is at such a time as this. God knows Germany, Russia, and China are all currently involved in protecting their own interests regardless of method. Why then the double standard?
