Well don't forget the bail outs either.
Or the manipulation of the markets.
While common folk lost out.
That's how these things are done.

I have always been driven by the ideals of excellence, hard work, and determination. That said, I fail miserably at identifying with the motivations of insatiable greed and power. The biographies of JP Morgan, John Rockefeller, and Andrew Carnegie are telling.

Carlin,
it has always been my belief that everything began with the founding fathers themselves.
The industrial age was money on Meth.
And we're paying for it to this day.

I was actually just having a similar conversation with my wife this evening. The Industrial Revolution(s) changed so much for so many. Much of it what is viewed as beneficial to society in the near term can actually have some negative long term consequences. The development of this place, even before it actually founded, centered around supplying the motherland with the raw materials for it needed to grow the empire along with it Imperialist aspirations. I have always felt that the efficacy of the entire model relies so heavily upon a certain amount of growth, that it is not reasonable to assume indefinite sustainability.

It happened to quickly for anyone to look at the long term.
Sustainability.
Hence global markets, growth.
We get left out in the rain.
There is an end, then what they do for entertainment is anybody's guess.
