I agree with you, but in reverse :-) I can admire a nice solid working GSD, but have no desire to own one. Just not the breed for me.

Oh hell, by the looks of what's going on youknowwhere, maybe it's time to add an Airedale just to keep things REALLY interesting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyway, I digress, so I'm sorry for taking this off topic.

Gustav, there is no doubt you posses a superb knowledge of the breed, but you are constantly bashing the breed more than anyone these days. It seems to me you are somewhat stuck in the past with blinders on and incapable of giving a good assessment of today’s GSD. Our 2010 Sieger Ober Bad-Boll was one of the best working showlines we have seen in recent memory yet you still can’t get past the Bernd, Mutz, and Frei lines of yester-year. This is very much starting to disturb me since you keep talking about them all the time without even trying to use your wonderful experience in pointing out the accomplishments of some of today’s better dogs. Why all of the negativity all the time? You’re starting to sound like a grumpy old man.

Regards Mals to the German Shepherd dog, Both are good workers, both have there uses which are similar, It all boils down to a matter of choice of which breed you prefer to own and work.

Not sure what point you are trying to make by saying the Malinois breed was established before the GSD but that only tells me that if the breed was so much superior then they would be much more popular than what they are today. They are merely a fancy breed and that is all. The Shih-Tzu is one the oldest breeds ever so what is your point?

My comment was that these lines are no longer superb working dogs....they AREN'T. Didn't say they weren't pretty, or good to sleep with at night, or what the non informed think is the correct GS, I said superb working dogs!
I finally find it Hilarious that you have to go to the past to come back at me and try to use the past as a reason for me not being relevant or "bashing" as you say it. How about dealing with the NOW and give repeated examples of these dogs performing high level sport of work. Cause everytime you pull out one or two dogs as an example and leave the other 80% out of the argument...you make my case.
My views about the past don't disturb you, my views about the present supported by reality disturbs you and you like other enablers want people to just overlook the what the SL have become in terms of producing and being working dogs....true lovers of the breed(not cosmetic lovers) will never do this!
And the breed was created to be a superb working dog, SO if the structure you are promoting, and the temperament, you are promoting DOES NOT translate into a superb working dog...then you are off base. And guess what...we don't need your or MY opinion on this...there is reality to judge the state of the breed in working and many of you won't discuss that but continue to resort to the comfort of being bashed (victimization) which is reflective of what this breed has become in these lines.
