Females in general do not get trained as much as males do, especially to high levels because they are naturally not as strong and heat cycles throw a wrench in trialing/competition plans, so most people stick to males. In the United States, less than 10% of the dogs at high level are bitches. They're rarely titled in the United States at this point even at a club level, and the reason they're titled in Germany is that they HAVE TO BE in order to be bred. With KNPV registration, and I'm assuming that the Dutch breed registry also doesn't require females to be titled in order for the puppies to be registered so there's no reason to title the female or try to compete with one if the males are going to dominate anyways.

About other breeds only a few bouviers, rottweiler ,dobermann I have seen this year one bouvier female.
The club where I train are 5 X malinois females from the 10 dogs who are in training , general here I see much more X malinois/dutchies females I think its about 20-25 percent total and some handlers they keep them for breeding. .
Another important reason is most police departments will not buy females most dogs gonna sold to police /military after trial , personal I see better quality
x Malinois than GSD but what I see that is my personal observation and ofcourse there are much more X malinois litters.
I think it is very important also certified more females to see what is the potential from the dog individiual, bloodlines only don,t wanna tell you everything. And I also believe the more important factor from genetics in females than males for breeding.
