The English team was fully depressed after the referee had canceled their second goal. It does not mean that they were better however still this depressed the players a lot. I think this referee was not at all up to this championship.

Oh Steve, don't be so sensitive lol. I was just having a laugh. Anyway  the difference is, we know our team is rubbish but support them all the same.

Me sensitive that would be a new one. However i agree England were rubbish but the fault lies with the Manager he is not up to the job, He did the wrong thing when he gave the Goalie the boot after his mistake in the first match that was his big mistake and why, Firstly he gave no second chance to the Young Guy so then every man on the team would be thinking if i make one mistake then i am out just like the Goalie was that does nothing for the teams moral but the Manager is too thick to understand that
That does not make a good Manager but a poor one in my book,
Personally he should get the same treatment as the Players he was in charge of THE BOOT and no second chances, Also the problem with the English team is there are hardly any  true Englishmen playing in the team any more at one time it used to be no more than four foreign players now it is very near the whole team However they did not deserve to go through on the way they had been playing

Steve1...we shall see.

Wimbledon has been over shadowed by the World Cup for me although I did manage a glimpse of the final 5th set between Roddick and Lu (Taipei, ranked 82)  What a tight match it was 4-6, 7-6, 7-6, 6-7, 9-7.

I like to watch the Tennis Both Belgian Girls are out a big suprise,  the only think now with Tennis is the noise they make, Mostly the Women, They  sound like a Vixen in Heat with there squalling and screeching, There  really is  no need for it and it should be stopped

I agree with you the irritation with perpetual grunting on every stroke.  I do not mind the occassional outburst on big points but it seem these days it is all out of control in big matches.

How the grunters compare, in decibels
Lion’s roar 110
Maria Sharapova 101
Monica Seles 93.2
Serena Williams 88.9
Lindsay Davenport 88
Venus Williams 85
Victoria Azarenka 83.5
Elena Bovina 81
Anna Kournikova 78.5
Kim Clijsters 75
Elena Dementieva 73

The new grunter who got beaten by Serena on the first round is Michelle Larcher de Brito, a 17yr old from Portugal

Papers has described her volume not only attacks the eardrums of opponents, officials and spectators with the the kind of shriek that suggests she is having her fingernails torturously ripped out on every single shot, she also annoyingly celebrates the winning of a point with a shake of the fist directed across the net and a loud yell of "C’monnnnnnnnnnn" that makes Lleyton Hewitt appear positively respectful to his opponent by comparison.

I generally watch Wembledon every year but not much during the WorldCup event.  Dogs need their exercise :)

Big match on Friday and Saturday mate.  Holland vs Brazil ; Germany vs Argentina
