Because sometimes people misspell the name, or post a pedigree that already existed in the database.
The first time I posted my dog's pedigree, I inadvertantly listed the wrong sire, and had to delete and start over.

When you inadvertently enter the wrong information, thats when you use the update pedigree button.. No need to delete the entire pedigree and start over....The delete button is to delete the entire pedigree....I just deleted a pedigree and it is no longer listed on this database..It say that the pedigree no longer exist....
Sorry Mudwick, I really am not trying to argue, just trying to understand the way this works.....
sorry it actually say, sorry no dogs found with that name....Here look up this dog....Grimm vom Saarbach

Well Maggie, there have always been rules and TOS. They just don't apply to everyone....

Really, if this bothers you that much, take it up with OLI.
These are HIS rules.

Don't you know I am aware of AKC and SV reread my post.
Akc and sv can make it available for anyone that wants it.. But got news for you.
You have to pay to get a pedigree from AKC. They do not release pedigrees to the public unless a log in and it is paid for.
Cannot do it. Akc will not tell you info on phone about who owns it or info if you are not the owner of the akc dog.
Olis forum is not an organization for profit or by certification. If it is, news to me. I didn't join here by force , by choice. I by choice put my dogs on here.
No one else , except for one crook who Akc already took care of themselves, posted my pedigrees. The person who did , got the info all wrong in the second place.

The rules on this site just need to be enforced. Owning a dog clearly does not mean you own the pedigree. That is not a hard concept to understand.
