All this talk about hard dogs and old lines is making me smile. We just did muzzlework with my boy, for the first time today. I must say it was scary but very cool. It is much easier to see how he likes to fight and dominate the man this way, than on the suit or sleeve. He is so calm and collected in his work but the muzzle really shows it. Fun stuff.

KNVP and NVBK are different ......One is Dutch the other is Belgium. I will say
both breed tough dogs though.

I love muzzlework. For me it is one of the best ways to test and work a dog.

KNPV has a program , in which you see more and more sport/play dogs nowadays
NVBK is no trainingprogram but an alternative to saint hubert , formed by a group of dogclubs/breeders/trainers
they breed dogs with a NVBK pedigree that is not recognized by FCI or other organizations
I would say , most train ring/reality , which is also attended by pedigree breeder/.trainers
I must say the best molinois ive seen lately was an NVBK bred malinois
basically a shame a dog like that cannot be used with pedigreemalinois

Muzzles are a great way to see not only how "tough" the dog is but how he thinks and reacts under pressure; many dogs don't look so tough anymore when you take away their ability to bite. The fighters, however, are quite a sight to behold. ;-) I would love to be able to do more muzzle work w/more of my dogs...but that's not so easy by myself.
Don, I'd have to be BSC to post that on the internet! I might as well let them take my house and kid now, lol. Case in point, I know a woman who was nearly sued for everything she had when her dog merely SCRATCHED a passerby. Sounds frivolous, yes, but the plaintiff's case was strengthened by the fact that she had videos of him doing SchH, which they construed as acknowledging she owned a dangerous dog. I'm in the middle of a custody battle right now in which my dogs were brought up as evidence against me. Shoulda let the damn dog finish him when he wanted to several months back, LMAO.
If you would like to see for yourself, I will PM you my address and you are welcome to come pick a fight with the dog, but you are NOT welcome to photgraph or videotape it! ;-p
