Red Sable

by Red Sable on 18 June 2010 - 16:06

I love horses, as I've said before.  I work with race horses, and have a new project racing tomorrow, hopefully he does well.

I also curl in the winter,  play softball in the summer and love playing scrabble, card games and I am a crokinole champion

I just set my new trailer up in a campground with a river as my backyard for the dogs to swim in, so I'm looking forward to that for the rest of the summer.

Bob,
You are correct, sorry to go off on a tangent on your post.  I apologize.

I also enjoy Scuba Diving and snorkeling.  I have dove in the Bahamas, Aruba, Bermuda and NY.  I am going to Florida next week and planning a trip to swim with the dolphins.  I've always wanted to do that.  I also enjoy shooting, but am not a gun nut.  I enjoy teaching firearms and instructing at our academy.  I am very much into dog training, both for work and sport.  I work my dog off duty virtually every day and have some friends that I do SchH with on Sundays.

I enjoy cooking and BBQ'ing.  I had about 200 people at my house last Sunday for a fund raiser BBQ for a friends wife who was recently diagnosed with liver cancer.   My buddy is a fellow K9 officer and my wife and I organized the fund raiser, raising over $ 9,000 to help with medical bills.  We had tons of food, I BBQ'd all day and tons of people.  There were 3 corn hole games going, I had a keg (which we floated) and lots of people in my pool.  It was a fun day and very worthwhile.

I am known for my ribs which I slow cook.  I am putting some in the oven now.  I enjoy photography.  I love gardening and planted about 300 flowers around yard in the various flower beds.  While my ribs cook I'm going to work on my vegetable garden.  I enjoy working outside and just finished a15 x 30' paving stone patio for my kennel area.  I've added about 10 yards of mulch in my yard this year.  2 yards of cedar mulch for my dogs kennel area in one spot.  They are like big gerbils in the cedar.  I love doing anything outdoors, boating, fishing, swimming, etc.  I enjoy working out and working on my heavy bag, speed bag and double ended bags.  My wife and I bike ride and go for walks with the dogs.  We enjoy entertaining at our house and often have friends over for dinner.

I love silly comedies and watching movies, streaming Netflix to my TV is awesome.  I work a lot, today is a rare day off with no court.  I am very fortunate that most of the things I really enjoy I can do at work.  Sure makes the work day go faster.

I think now we know what jim does for fun....lol

Bob,
I definitely want to head up your way one of these days,
Buckeyefan and one of my pups is up that way also.

Right now I'm a car short here so gotta get out the tool box and have at it.

4pack,
Men are not supposed to make you broke, dogs maybe.
wish you weren't so damned far away.

GSDtravels,
the deepest I've ever been was 50 feet or so in a fresh water stripper pit.
As kids we would borrow those tanks and sneak into a public pool and play all night long, probably some drugs and alcohol were involved.
Other kids from other schools would also sneak in, guys and girls skinny dipping, we did a time or two scare the hell out of them..lol      And then the guard would hear us and spend all night trying to catch us.  Those were some wild times as a teenager.
This brought back some fond memories for sure.

Moons.

Moons, glad I could resurrect some good memories for ya!  We used to climb over the fence at the pool too, but not with scuba equipment.  Just skinny dipping at night was exciting enough!

LOL.....
It's a very pleasant feeling I must say......skinny dipping.

My buddy spent a summer diving for lost balls at two of the local Country Clubs and bought new gear with his earnings.
Those folks payed quit well for those expensive balls ..lol

Now I just settle for a swim and sometimes I Ski.
So far this year the rivers been up and muddy, lot's of drift and my boat needs a motor.
I haven't been swimming yet this year.

quote by VM: "I just don't know how you guys can have time for anything after work and dogs!!! "

I am right there with you!!  Between work and the dogs, I don't have a lot of time to do much else.    I am a voracious reader and have to work that in at odd hours (or while riding the train).  I volunteer with a few legal clinics/projects, my favorite being one  for artists.   I don't have nearly the time I would like to spend on it, though.

I would love to garden and get started herbs every year for an herb garden I have never had the time to plant.   I enjoy Pilates, shooting (firing -range, only), but don't have the time for either.    I pay for two gym memberships and can't remember the last time I set foot in either.

I enjoy  attending dance performances, modern,  ballet and cultural.  I subscribe to a few series, but often end up lacking either the time, or energy, to attend all the performances for which I have pre-ordered tickets.  Music is a passion, especially classical guitar. It is magical to me that musicians can create so many and varied pieces from the same twelve notes.   If that is not magic, what is?    If I had the time, I would take guitar lessons.

Jim
you are wrong in this case
Maggie just put on a post nothing wrong in that, i am responding solely to that
What you mean to say is this that you and others will hound her at every opportunity she posts and on whatever subject
Is that not harassment, If i was in your area harassing some person would you not arrest me for doing it for i am sure it is an offense to do so
If you think not then you are in the wrong job, and as i have said before i do not follow the crowd i am not interested in being popular on this or any other forum i say it as i find it If some one is being Racist towards another then i would tell them No matter who it was but to hold a grudge in the attempt to get someone of the forum that way is wrong and childish

Steve,
Lets agree to disagree.

Maggie deserves everything she gets for all of the nasty things she has done on this forum.  She is a POS and a troll.  You need to choose your battles wiser, or  you must also feel the need to argue with everyone about everything?  No one here is harassing poor little maggs, quite the opposite.  She is the one constantly harassing others.

Don't respond to one post when this ass has posted over two thousand mean spirited, ignorant, hateful posts.  You really need to think about what/whom you are defending before you do it.  Steve, please stop feeding that ugly little troll maggs.

You can spare me the lectures on proper conduct, but thanks for the effort.  It is directed to the wrong person.  Let's not keep this discourse going.  I am not inclined to argue with you regarding Maggie, if you can't see her/him for  the troll she really is, then the problem lies solely with you.   You seem to be a genuinely nice guy and I enjoy your stories of training your dog.  Let's leave our conversations related to dogs and training.  Keep in mind 1 friendly post in 2,000 or more doesn't make maggie a decent person or one worth defending.  She is what she is (a nasty troll) and I'll call it the way I see it.  This is my last post to you regrading this subject.

FWIW,

I can't get enough of watching the paint dry. It was a sad day when my lesbian painter left in tears, because the job was done. I think I broke her heart. I knew she wanted an invite to our Memorial day pool party, but I just couldn't do it. I thought it would be like giving her false hopes. My husband said he thinks she really got attached to me. Damn it, though, I did pick out some great colors.
