You are talented to build such a loft. Are you an engineer?

by steve1 on 15 June 2010 - 16:06
No, i was never an Engineer i was not brainy enough for a job like that, I was a Interior & Exterior Painter and Decorator all my working life 45 years in that trade except for the years i was in her M.Forces then i carried on in the same job, I used to paint old Houses inside and out and Newly Built ones on the Building Sites so picked up tips as the time went by, I was and still am an ordinary working Guy now retired of course, But can stretch to do things if i have too certainly i cannot afford to pay others to do my work for me

no disrespect was meant steve the pigeons look lean but the pigeons in the town center are fat because the amount of food they are given ..also where they are housed looks immaculate is it really true they are harder to breed then dogs etc (well bred ones) i really didnt want to disrespect you about the things i said i didnt know so i just asked as you are from uk too

No offence taken and i never thought it was meant in a wrong way but i posted just to let you know the Myths are not true regards Racing Pigeons
Yes, i was born in London UK 16th June 1940 in fact tomorrow i will be 70 years old, Born under the sound of the Bow Bells makes me a Cockney Lad,
However when the first Bombs hit London Mother carrying me and three other little Kids in tow went into the Air raid Shelter when she came out the whole Street was gone including our House, Two days later she was put on a train by the local council the train went 70 miles away to Newbury, Berkshire, the Guard told her to get off with four Kids and the train went on No where to live and not knowing what to do she took us into the town and asked a lady where the council offices were in the meantime the Lady took her to her home for the night next day the council came and said my mother and the two youngest could stay with the Lady My Mothers two Daughters ages 7 and 5 were taken from her and boarded out to foster homes ,It was 4 years before she got her daughters back and in that 4 years they never saw there mother or Father that was the sign of the times during War
Our Dad was serving in the RAF he knew nothing for months of what happened, When the war ended he came home and the family got together again
My Mothers Sister stayed in the house that was bombed she died that day, As did two of her brothers who were serving in the Army at that time
Anyway sorry to hijack this thread

Ha ha ha...
I am sorry Steve, I like you, man, but this English team is one big fat pathetic bunch.
Draw with Algeria, 0-0, no goals. Algeria? ALGERIA? These guys are minnows in world soccer and England is (supposed to be) sharks, whales, or at least a barracuda. They are showing nothing in this world cup, despite impressice names, Princes William and Harry paying them a visit int he dressing room and so on and so on. No wonder English press is giving them such a hard time, deservedly so.
To Dawn, how can a game end up in tie?
Only in group matches. There are 32 countries in the cup, divided into groups. Every group has 4 teams, they all play each other. So, in "our group" we have England, USA, Algeria and Slovenia. They allplay each other once, regardless how the game ends, a tie, win or loss. You get points accordingly,if you win, full points, a tie gets 1 point to each team and loss gets you big fat zero.
After they all play each other, we'll know next week, then out of 4 teams in every group, 2 with most points advance into the elimination play, or sweet 16, as people in USa call college basketball games.
There is no tie then, there will be a winner. If after 2 halves played, 90 minutes, there is no goals, ir it's a tie, 1-1, 2-2,3-3 etc... they play extra time, 2x15 minutes. If even then, nothing, still tied, then they will take a short break, then do penalty kicks. 5 guys from each team will shoot at the goal, just him and the goal keeper. Loser goes home, 8 winners from total of 16 teamse advances to next level, then 4 teams, then 2 best play for world championships.
