Hey Prager,

I never knew this parade existed as my stent in the military never took me to europe. (what a shame). It is heart warming that some still care for the things we have done in our past glory's. Being that i have spent time in our modern day conflict i will say that contrary to popular beleif many middle eastern natives love our presence and will be saddened and stained if we dont have the resolve to truely finish the job of our current war on terrorism. I could turn into a stain on our reputation and erase any good we did during our occupancy of the middle east if we jump bail in the natives memory. So I have seen first hand the loyalty many nations have for the US soldier. The elders in South Korea haven't forgotten either as I learned during my tour there as well.

So where is Jiri with his dogs honoring the war dogs of WWII. haha. im joking but that would also be a nice tribute to to fallen comrades that seem to be fogotten. Just a thought.

THANK YOU for this post.

Lee

Uglygly dog  You know what Mark Twain said?
Most I am afraid a man who have red just one book Seems like you may be such person. You are picking up facts and mixing them up in convoluted gubligoog of lies. Primitive expression of sophistry.
Yes there are many way to look  on history, but yours is the most extreme. Yes mistakes are made in politics , we are not living in perfect world. Yes, Czechs were in sympathy with Patton to go fight Soviet Union but also understood why it have not happened. Yes Czechs were disappointed with Roosevelt's blunder in Jalta but
Yes, we are also thanking to American soldier to die for out freedom over and over again and for America willingness to fight for freedom from Nacis.
So if you do not like, that we do thank America, then that is your problem.

'The difficulty in understanding the Russian is that we do not take cognizance of the fact that he is not a European, but an Asiatic, and therefore thinks deviously.
We can no more understand a Russian than a Chinese or a Japanese, and from what I have seen of them, I have no particular desire to understand them except to ascertain how much lead or iron it takes to kill them. In addition to his other amiable characteristics, the Russian has no regard for human life and they are all out sons-of-bitches, barbarians, and chronic drunks.'
-General George Patton

"I believe that Germany should not be destroyed, but rather should be re-built as a buffer against the real danger, which is Russia and it's Bolshevism.

Russia KNOWS what she wants. WORLD DOMINATION.
And she is laying her plans accordingly. We, on the other hand, and England and France to a lesser extent, don't know what we want. We get less than nothing as a result. If we have to fight them, now is the time.
From now on, we will get weaker and they will get stronger. Let's keep out boots polished, bayonets sharpened, and present a picture of force and strength to the Russians. This is the only language that they understand and respect. If we fail to do this, then I would like to say that we have had a victory over the Germans, and have disarmed them, but we have lost the war.

The one thing that I could not say, and cannot yet say publicly, is that my chief interest in establishing order in Germany was to prevent Germany from going communist.
I am afraid that our foolish and utterly stupid policy in regard to Germany will certainly cause them to join the Russians and thereby insure a communistic state throughout Western Europe. We have destroyed what could have been a good race of people and we are about to replace them with Mongolian savages and all of Europe with communism."

-General Patton

Hans, I am fairly sure Ugly is a neo-Nazi. Please don't feed the trolls. Give his posts, as aggravating as they are, the silence they deserve.

BTW, Ugly, it's interesting that Israel won WWI, when it didn't exist as a nation until after WWII!    Thanks for the revisionist history! It shows how full of crap you are!

Hans-
Thanks for the great post.  My grandfather was a medic in France and Africa during WWII.  I'm attaching a picture he took in Paris after V-E day.  Our family has an album full of photos that he took during his service, and many of them are of ordinary people trying to go on with the task of living during a war.  My husband also served in the Air Force, and has a permanent servcie-connect disability.  It's easy to spout political crap and forget the human faces of all sides involved.  Thanks for the reminder that there are good people who are thankful for the sacrifices of others.

Balfour Declaration, Read it.  It was a Fruit OF WW1, dummy.
Thats when Israel was stolen, at least on paper, by Balfour, Rothschild and England.
Jews were moved there in WW2.

Im no Neo Nazi, but Im Pro Truth.  You sound like a Zionist Supremist.

Tutu condemns Israeli 'Apartheid'
April 2002 BBC UK
South African Archbishop Desmond Tutu has accused Israel of practising apartheid in its policies towards the Palestinians
The Nobel peace laureate said he was very deeply distressed by a visit to the Holy Land, adding that "it reminded me so much of what happened to us black people in South Africa
In a speech in the US, Archbishop Tutu said he saw "the humiliation of the Palestinians at checkpoints & roadblocks, suffering like us"

"Israel today is an apartheid State with four different Palestinian groups: those in Gaza, East Jerusalem, the West Bank and Israeli Palestinians, each of which had a different status...even if the wall followed strictly the line of the pre-1967 border, it would still not be justified. The two peoples needed cooperation rather than walls because they must be neighbors." -Danny Rubinstein, Haaretz columnist, 2007 UN report
