Okie Amazon

I preferred.... Petticooooaaat Junction! WooooWoooo!

Steve is driving down today to pull a sample from the well and have it tested to make sure the water's good.  It's a 210'  well and the waters good all around, but it's best to make sure. If you ain't got water, you're kinda SOL, ya know? We nearly got taken on some land a few years ago, but found out luckily not too late that the ground water and wells around the area had been contaminated by salt water pumped in by oil rigs. People in the area were spending a small fortune on water filtration and softening systems.

Also found out about an abandoned old homestead that still has a working windmill, so some friends are going to help us go take it down and move it out there.

In the midst of all this, we have to go pick up a pup in Lawton, OK,(10 month old) that we have agreed to take back. The "family" bought her and NOW we find out that she was actually bought for the 16 y/o daughter, to be her dog, and who has now moved into an apartment with her "fiancee" and Mom doesn't want to babysit for "her" dog anymore.  She actually asked us if we would "let her stay with us" (for free, mind you), until they get moved into a house!!!!!!!!  Uhhhh, no, that's not the way this works. We will take back any dog we have bred, but we won't provide free boarding for indeterminate amounts of time and then return "your" dog!

Really a strange thing. The mother of  this girl is an M.D., the father a surgeon, and they're letting their daughter totally f** up her life?????? Apparently not even finishing high school????   Oh boy!  Eye roll on that one, but at least she can do it w/o one of our dogs.

I'm definitely a child of TV.  I absolutely mortified my mother at church when I was about 3. Everybody was singing, so I started belting out the only two songs I knew.  'LONE STAR! LONE STAR BEER! KING OF THE TEXAS BEERS!" and , "KEEP THEM DOGGIES MOVING - ROHOOOOOOO!" (I apparently didn't know it was "RawHIDE")

I laughed my sock off :)) I remember those jiggles.  I loved Rawhide.
Always,
Cee
