I still do not know what is maltesar but at least now I know how big it is :)
and I have also learned that boys have dick.
Learning something every day.
By the way I would get it fixed now! No offense but I would not put too much trust in a vet who says to wait until 9 mo. This may lead to intestinal strangulation at any time.

I agree with Hans what kind of a vet would say wait till 9 months most good vets will tell you 7 or 8 weeks is plenty old to get it repaired I,ve never seen one that large in such a young pup.

I brought a pup that was 12 wks old with a hernia to a vet..That vet said to wait till the pup was 6 months old, because he did like the idea of having to use anesthesia on such a young puppy....I questioned that, so I took the puppy to another vet and had it removed and puppy neutered at the same time...No problems at all...

Guess its just difference of opinoins between vets and what their preferences are....
