Please update us Tarek! I know dogs can suffer depression. Maybe now that some time has passed, he's ready for that ice cream trick, he must have come from a real good home.

To all concerned friends, I tried all your recommendations & tricks etc.., however he is continued showing  signs of depression despite my efforts which seems to be all  in vain.

I think he is a bit cunning, for example two days later after I had sent my post & when I tried the ice cream trick he came to me wagging his tail & within seconds he swallowed it,  then he gave me his back walked for few meters & lied down with his head between his forelegs & his eyes looking at me in a very cunning manner as if he was telling me if you want me to come back to you give me another one.

I spoke to the German breeder who advised me to always join one of my favorite dogs together with Storm (the depressed one) during the going outs & training / playing periods. He recommended that I give all my attention to my old dog i.e. play with him, praise him  & to completely ignore Storm & to see his reaction at this stage.

I tried this for the past 4 days & it started to work now Storm is doing his best to attract my attention to play with him as I do with my old dog, he even started to push my old dog away with his body & make a barrier between me & him as if he is saying come on man I am here.

I also followed the breeder advise by hand feeding my old dog in the presence of Storm, to my surprise Storm now comes to me first & accept the food from my hand & finishes it before my old dog does.

This is in my opinion a big progress.

So I can now loudly announce to everybody that jealousy is very high in dogs.

When he is fully recover I will send you pictures.

Thanks for your posts

Tarek
As you probably know i went away for 12 days to the WUSV Championships. While i was away my brother said Izzy did not eat right, Moaned a lot of the time, took no notice of what he told her to do and kept staring at the Kitchen Window all day long even when it was dark she stayed outside her kennel, I guess it could have been she was missing me a bit. Why i do not know
However when i came home she woke up, 'BUT' sometimes during the Night and early Morning she Barked never did this before i went away ever. Plus she Barked if she heard the car leaving the House, Again i guess she thought i was leaving her even if i was still in the house
It has taken her a full week to settle down again she has stopped Barking in the mornings and during the night at times as she did and she now knows i am back
Do not worry about your new Pup, Give him plenty of your time and talk to him fuss him and play with him and get him to know you, He will come round in a week or two

Great to hear about your progress Tarek. Funny about one ice cream wasn't enough! LOL I guess Pirate's Lair had the right idea.

Steve1, you mentioned Izzy pining for you at the Kitchen window. i've been sharing pictures from my old book and saw this and it reminded me of what you said. I  hope you like it. I think it would make a real nice painting, too.
