Seems unlikely, since their genome would still clearly indicate homosapiens, not homoerectus.
Human DNA = Human.
Neanderthal DNA = Neanderthal.  

Not really complicated.

Arthritis doesn't make a human skeleton look like a neanderthal's, either.

I found the most interesting part of the article to be their implication that only humans of non-African descent interbred with Neanderthals.

Inquiry! would the unique characteristics of neanderthal  mans skeleton be a result of a specific climate condition?Just as experimentation in the space station indicates the loss of muscle and bone mass due to low gravity conditions! would neander. be specifically suited to higher oxygen and gravity conditions?Higher atmospheric pressures result in smaller lung capacity? higher gravity conditions produce stronger bone and muscle mass?  just sayin?
