This is the funniest thread I have read in awhile. Too cute!
My son is teaching Caya to be a collector, so I think it can be a learned behavior :-)
I hope you don't mind me sharing this picture on your thread...
I asked him how she got all those toys and he said "I gave them to her!"
Can you see the dog in the picture? ;-)

Vom, that's adorable!
My little guy and Eric have a running battle over stuffies. Eric lives to sneak into my son's room and get hold of his stuffed animals. The two then go tearing through the house, one trying to get the stuffie from the other.

that is super cute Vom
RLHAR ... I agree with the others in that I think your dog Is just happy to be home.
His collecting is probably his way of keeping yall close so he feels happy and safe when you guys have to do other things around the house
And i think i speak for most here when I say NEXT TIME TAKE PICTURES

Oh Man RL,
You would have related to the picture I deleted earlier when I was trying to get a good shot of Judge.
All that came out in the picture was my feet LOL
And then there are the pictures of say, a tail... ;-)
Thank the inventor of the digital cameras! Can you imagine how much film would be wasted if we had to bring rolls to be developed like in the "old days"

I saw a show where a Dobie, (I think it was) would not only collect his favorite toys but he would distinctly arrange them! He would place them just so, in patterns. He did this daily!

lol What a cute image that brings to mind!
I love the story of Eric trying to take the socks off your child at the dinner table.
Yes, teaching a couple of "tricks" for assistance is a great idea, IMHO. I'm really glad my dog figured out "pick it up" since I have a bad back. She helps with laundry (will pick up a dropped sock, etc. and hand it to me) and has even picked up a bookmark and my glasses without harming them!
And she can open doors. She keeps coming back inside when we've put her outside, if we don't lock the door. :)
