I know there is hella politics in the GSD world, but it's too bad Danny didn't consider staying in the ring and fighting for what he belives in instead of stepping out. I don't know the guy, and wish him well, but my opinion of people who drop out of a commitment half way through is that they are - well, Sarah Palin-ish. No bottom. There is a difference between a *personal* position and one which you have been elected to.
Geez, I wish DVG was a better option. America needs its own schutzhund organization (been saying THAT for years). I've seen PSA, and with all due respect, don't consider that a viable option.
Sigh.

Yeah Diane, PSA seems to be dying out, but I'm glad it's around still. :) I belong to DVG too, and a DVG club is hosting the PSA trial in Oregon in July.
May be stuck with Ring soon.

Jackie, PSA is NOT dying out. It's just slowing down out here on the west coast. They are going gangbusters back east however. It will swing back around this way. I think the economy has hurt things allot.

I'm glad you have it down there to work in. I just have to be honest and say I was not impressed with what I saw. I know a kid (17 years old) who became a "level 3 - teaching decoy" by sending in a tape of her working one dog. She decoyed at our club for several months and while she was a nice kid, her decoy work was hardly something you would see at a trial. She's probably going to be the decoy at the Oregon trial, as that's where she lives and I believe she just decoyed an event in Oregon this month. Like I said, nice kid but YEARS from being a trial decoy of any sort.
You're right - ring may end up being the refuge for those of us who JUST WANT TO TRAIN OUR DOGS! That's sad though, as I LOVE tracking...

NoCurs, this is in PSA?
As far as I know they are required to test and pass to be a trial decoy, just the same as in Schutzhund or Ring.

Pack, that sucks about that brat. Sounds like he's due for a whooping when he gets out. (Sounds like I'm talking about jail.)
NoCurs, I sure wish I was crying about the "no tracking" part.....OH WELL!
