She also looks like she could kick butt.

You know, there is the possibility that she simply doesn't have the wherewithal to grasp anything beyond the most elemental of concepts and issues. Perhaps this pattern she displays is a defense mechanism she has been unconsciously refining and honing since childhood. I think maybe she really does feel threatened or cornered when confronted with facts or even just a differing opinion, and her reaction is to jump to the defensive and make disparaging, personal remarks about whomever, since she does not have the tools to defend her position logically or commit to a reasoned discussion. A sort of redirect or deflection, if you will.
Maybe the better, higher road would be to ignore, not because she is a troll, but because possibly she really can't help herself?

Sue,
I agree with simply ignoring the troll, and I agree with your analysis that is simply learned behavior. But I don't buy the "disability" (for lack of a better description of )concept. Some people are simply nasty, evil, and trashy. I expect people to be accountable for their actions, unless there is a bona fide reason to consider a recognized disability or condition, e.g. Fetal Alcohol Affect, PTSD, bi-polar, etc.
Maggie has assiduously kept her identity hidden, certainly more so that any others on this forum, because no one has a clue who he/she really is. That kind of near-pathological anonymity can only be in order to continue his/her cowardly attacks on people from the hole of anonymity.
Hmmm, on second thought, maybe you are correct, because I have just described a pretty sick and damaged individual. Frankly, that gives me pause. I don't bother engaging the individual anyway, as a troll. Perhaps there is even more reason NOT to engage him/her?

Sort of like how she copied and pasted Phil's comment, as if that makes her point! Just as on the thread about the 2010 Sieger Show she thought that thread was all about working vs show. She simply doesn't have the capacity to fully grasp the issues.
