Sorry, been too busy. At one point this morning, I had the plumber here, a grooming client waiting to book his dogs in, and the phone was ringing off the hook!

Also, Sarah was stressing over the smallest pup, which is now at the vet's. Looks like it won't be coming back. She has a cleft palate, poor thing.

Maybe once I finish with the kennel. Fortunately, we only have three boarders in this weekend, plus the two huge hairy monsters to be groomed.

Very good, you are a strong person to be doing all of this. Congrates:)
Always,

Congrats, Sunsilver.  Glad the move is over, I hate moving.  I've done it too many times and never look forward to it.  Sorry about the little one and hope the rest are fine.  Keep us posted and get those pics on here!  I smell puppy breath!

It was the mother that alerted Sarah to the fading pup. She kept picking it up and putting it between her paws, and licking its face. She KNEW there was something wrong! When Sarah touched it, she found it was cold, and its skin turgor very poor (the skin would tent up when you pinched it.) She warmed it under the heat lamp, tube fed it a couple of times, and it perked right up.

The vet said the cleft palate was a really bad one, so she recommended euthanasia. Still, it was really hard to let it go.

Gotta hand it to the former owners of this place. They came by to pick up some stuff they'd left behind, and found Sarah in the middle of stripping this extremely matted dog. It was SO bad, she couldn't even get the collar off! The owner called it a lab-x. HAH!  Anyone who knows dogs could see there was a Newfie in the pedigree!

Anyway, he brought in two dogs instead of the one he said he was going to bring. Thank heavens the other one was short-coated, though very much in need of brushing and a bath. But he came in late in the day, and Sarah was pressed for time.

John and Irene each grabbed a set of clippers, and they had the dog stripped in no time at all!    Needless to say, Sarah was very, very grateful.

When they came by on Tuesday, John jumped on my little tractor, and mowed the whole two acres for me!

The sales contract said they were to come back...to TRAIN us to run the place, not to mow grass and help groom!

But hey, we're certainly NOT complaining!

Now, if only I can persuade John to fix some of the wonky light switches...

Congrats on the new puppies.  I m sorry you had to lose one.  My 13 puppies are all doing well and are now 4 weeks old.

Congratulations on your new place!

The lenders have gotten extremely crazy.  I am glad you got through it.

Pharaoh and I are still on vacation in the hotel where we are waitng to close escrow on our new house.

The builder is kind of a hippy artist and he needs lots of poking and proding to get finished.

Today a woman came up to me and said she and her husband are staying here too.  Like me, they had their house sold but couldn't close escrow on the new house and had to be out of the old one.

I can't wait to see pictures of your new place and the PUPPIES!

Sorry about the little one.  Very sad.
