GSDtravels, I got a message from them today also. It is a little confusing. I don't remember signing up on that list either. From what I can gather they got my user name from the longcoat GSd forum, which I haven't been on in probably a year. I've got nothing to hide, so I copied and pasted their email below:

Just a quick hello to all and to thank you for being a member of Diversified GSD Forum. Now that I kind of have a computer again and am able to get on more, I will be trying to get a few things done on the forum. I am also in the process of finding a job either in the Kalamazoo, MI area or the Lansing, MI area. Hopefully more toward Lansing. Things are looking up and I hope that things are going great for everyone else. Hope to see you on the forum. Thanks again, admin and mods of Diversified GSD Forum. Happy summer to all.......

Starrchar, that's the same message I got, it's the user name that was so weird. I've never used that name anywhere. Oh well, I'll see if I get an answer from them, just threw me off. Thanks!

I just went to the site and was able to login...I guess I joined in the past

They are accepting of long coats and white GSDs, hence the name, "Diversified German Shepherd Forum". I am only guessing, but I think that maybe it was previously called the longcoat GSD forum and the name has now been changed to include...well, other not so widely accepted "versions" of the GSD. Again, just a guess.

Okay. Thanks Louise. I remember when the "Shepherdwoman" website started. I began to remember when the contents of this site was downloaded by a database mining programme and combined with the information from the S.V. Genetics CD-ROM's and an attempt was made to sell it. Oli found out about it very quickly and was able to prove what happened. That site was originally based in England.

I guess if one had enough time on their hands they could glean all of the published email addresses from this site without a database mining package. I get a lot of "puppy listing" invitations from sites that have pulled my email address from here I am sure. It's okay - they all go to the Junk Email folder first.

GSDTravels - I was not very clear regarding what I said. The "Shepherdwoman" site was not the one that did the data mining here. That was another site that appeared about four (4) years ago and was made available for sale. Oli busted them and brought it to everyone's attention. The site eventually disappeared from the public domain.
