Well, according to the lady on the phone (when I called a number on the website contacts) said they are taking donations for the new ambulance fund and asked if I wanted to donate to that fund. I said no, I want to send the homeless guy something and she denied me the info because I wasn't a relative and told me to reread the news article again.

Kinda pissed me off, then I went back to the article and reread and I was even more pissed ...

I called 3 different post offices in East Memphis and all 3 said if I can find the address for the old car wash .. they would deliver everything directly. So, we need to find out that old car wash's name and address.

Is anyone on this forum from that homeless mans area who might know the name of the old car wash and possibly the address ?

Maybe you could get help from the local police department...just a thought.  Facebook sounds like a great idea.

yes, the dog gets a bath, medical treatment and a new home. the guy gets a tent.  What is wrong with this picture?
How about a home and job for this clean cut, homeless man? Did anyone ask if he was a war vet?
Many of our heroic vets are out in the street through no fault of their own.

Lets do something for this guy. count me in

Why don't you contact the reporter (tv or print) who covered the story?  Bet they've gotten similar inquiries.  Also, the man had a friend - Sheila Zachar - someone he is close enough to that he contacted her to help him, and she's the one who took the dog to the vet.  Whether she is a personal friend or someone in an official capacity who checks on people like Mr. Beavers I don't know, but perhaps the reporter can put you in touch with her, or will pass along contact information to Sheila so she can get back with you,

Id like to help the man too.  Thats one thing majorly wrong with society, if a peron has a bad turn many people would rather blame them for their problems then help them.

Ok, I got a call back from someone I know about 45 miles away from the area. They're gonna drive there, get the correct name and address of the old car wash and find out some more info via interview on the homeless man. She said in a couple days she'll get back to me.

I'll let ya'll know what I find out.

Its never gonna stop.Everytime I read something like this it brings the worst out in me.How  could the motherless bastard who did this do such a thing? Why not just bring the dog to a pound or even turn it loose instead of doing something like that.Man Id like a few minutes with this ballless bastard who probably would'nt think twice about doing this to a child too. What the fk is wrong with this society? And that poor gentleman who came to both dogs rescue,he deserves a good turn back. Here is someone who cant be that bad a person to do what he did in helping these poor animals.I beleive in KARMA and I would like to hear that something pans out for this gentleman. He deserves a break. He deserves to sleep in a bed like the rest of us.He does'nt look like your typical homeless guy.Who knows this poor guys story.I hope this ends up good for both the dog and the gentleman who helped her.

If we can get a media blitz on it, celebrities may step up and help do the right thing.  I bet Oprah would be all over it.

"He doesn't look like your typical homeless guy.Who knows this poor guys story."

It said he's been homeless "a couple of months."  Could be foreclosure, job loss, illness, all of the above...
