I can't find the video but I can't think of one good reason to hit the dog with the sleeve.

No, me either, but did they mean it LITERALLY? Like BEATING the dog?

vommarishcal, not literally "beating" the dog, but he smacked her in the face with the sleeve a few times, I'll post the link.  Even at the end he brags about beating the crap out of the dog, and the dog still comes to him.

He is just a fat slob, as a helper he is not and useless at trying to be one, had i been the owner of that dog he would have been eating dirt and grass without his teeth

i have said this before and will say it again:  too many people get out on the field and "mimic" what they have seen others do with no friggin' clue what they are doing or why.  helpers get their scratchpants on, a sleeve and a whip and they thinki they are good to go.  handlers get their  new training clothes and shoes on so they look the part, strut up and down the field just like what they saw someone else do; maybe strap on an e-collar and if the dog doesn't perform just so.....zing!
people need to put more thought into training and less copycat mimic.
