What's the 'Czech short leg syndrome'?  Don't think I've heard of that one.

Well one that I can think of came from his littermate Nesie Ben Ju by the name of Andy Maly Vah. If he isn't a great one I'm not sure who is. Although I would prefer a short legged dog over a long leg dog anyday.

Daryl,

i know what jenni is talking about and i have seen it in some dogs. never tied it to norbo-czech-german-etc... lines but see it from time to time seen it in a couple aritar bastet  import dogs for resale and from time to time in german dogs and american bred imports. Its not a true dwarfism but simply the dog will have short legs. very noticable.

take a gander at this dog- http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/532749.html
now im not familiar with this dog just happened to be the 1st picture(irregardless of lines) i found of a dog similar to what was being described. he isnt the worst ive seen but it gives some perspective i beleive.

OP,

Prager on here should know anything you wanna know. Considering he was use in his and jiri's breeding program.

Yosey, There is a noticeable difference from the dog you are talking about than Norbo and yes the short legs are visible for sure.  Although Norbo had a much better stucture.

I would give my arm for Norbo. By the way I have taken those videos which someone posted on here:
vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&VideoID=43652070

I consider him to be one of the best producers ever. It is funny that Yoshi demonstrated "Czech leg syndrome" on totaly "German" pedigreed dog. Thank You Yoshi!:)
Norbo produced probably thousands of dogs, positively influenced bloodlines and improved, hips, temeperament, pigmentation and structure. He was a real dog and he was a great dog! With tremendous presence->Legend.

Those are some great pictures Hans. Much better then the ones that I have seen on Dari's site. Was always looking at getting a pup from one of the litters Dari had out of him but the timing wasn't right.

I too wondered about that, I saw no Czech lines in that pedigree of the dog with "short legs"  Funny how little people tend to know the lines.

Nice pictures Hans. One reason I asked about all of this, there were a couple of litters I had looked at that were linebred on Norbo and some other well known Czech dogs.

GSDguy - Yoschy doesn´t say that the dog he has given as an example is Czech lines. He has just given that dog as an example of a short legged GSD.
